With tpj and the other young forwards leading the way it was a great half. Got to back it up though. Up to halves to control the momentum now. Knik has been good but needs help from milf who has the superior kicking ability.
 
McGuire has been easily Cows best player by the way.

Yeah, I think the monster performance by our pack and even our backs has kinda made the spine's performance easier to overlook. But they have been poor, we should have been up by 22+ already.

Also, we’re behind in the penalty count. Do the refs try to even it up, or give the Cows cheap leg-ups? Tough gig being a ref with such conflicting mandates.
 
So we need a dominant forward pack, we give our halves more than that and we are only 10 points...
 
TPJ played exactly like this against them lest year. If he makes it a weekly thing, we wont be able to afford to keep him.

And why do we get Moylan on coverage? I'd much prefer the sister Sims. Then again, no Sims at the ground is probably a good thing.

We've even managed to get a decent Boyd performance combined with one of the best team forward performances of the last 5 years, still only 10 points.

McCullough, Nikorima & Milford need to step up.

Cows are the most gifted penalty side in the league officially, so you know, different era but same.
 
Fortunately NQ backline can't create a lot of opportunities themselves. Neutralise Lolo and they're left searching for options. Huge that we were able to blunt his impact so early.

Had hoped we could rack up another before half time. History shows a 10-0 lead can be quickly overturned. Another would have really turned the screws and made them panic.

Lot of time left to play but we look more cohesive than in round 1. Can't underestimate the importance of a good start as far as errors and penalties are concerned.
