I watched Tweed on Sunday and thought Coates’ defence was excellent. I observed him carefully, he was more sure of his role and less jumpy. He stayed with his hips square didn’t rush or turn in and was communicating.

Tweed were terrible and had to do a lot more defence but Coates was very strong. Cutters put him under pressure.

I didn’t mention bird because he only has a year left I think? Gillet though, has until 2022 or something crazy like that.

Could be a ruse. Dreaden sneaks in to 7, Turps to 6 and Boyd to centre. I like that personally. But Coats is a good option, if his defence is better there as 1910 suggests.

I fear for our chances and for Coates confidence if they throw him out there against a red hot storm. They will expose him in defence in a way that might not have been seen in first grade before.

I'm not going to this game. I'm not even going to be able to watch it which might be for the best.

I'm going to be working so if Broncos win, I'm going to crack.

This will Coates last chance this year to grab the centre spot with both hands and keep it.

Nice to see people getting that belief and getting behind these young Broncos. I am backing them too.

It will all come down to taking the fight to those storm pricks. If the boys go in switched on and with belief in themselves they can win this for sure.
They need to play aggressive and they need to play the offload.

Not a Fan, would of Preffered Glen to stay at Centre, we have been much more solid Defensively since he moved there and put someone else in Second Row.

Just need to start hard and get their big boys defending plenty from the kick off. Storm played an intense 90 game last week but Broncos had a fairly cruisey one and both teams have had the same turn around. Get Haas and Lodge fired up to draw as many players into the tackles as they can. Then work the offloads and let milf loose on the tiring forwards. We need to be tight on the edges cause that's where their attack will be going.

Just heard a podcast with Cameron Smith. Again, he's talking about the salary cap scandal like they were the fucking victims. Poor storm. Got caught cheating, poor guys! Those premierships aren't recognised but you worked hard for them, like no other team worked hard that year but were not cheating to get there? **** off.
I don't give a shit what Smith did for queensland, he's a wanker and I'm glad most people have realised this before his career is over. He's among the greatest players of all time the way he's changed the game. But he wouldn't have half the influence on a game that he currently does if the refs had some fucking ticker.

Is there any update on SoS - I thought he would have been ready by now..?
As for Coates, I really fear that we may be chucking him in the deep end too early in his career. So much potential and skill, however, I would hate to see this along with his confidence being ruined from being told to do a job in this team when he is too ripe (especially if the Storm put a number on us..)
I rate Coates, but I'm just not 100% convinced that he is ready to live up to the hype/expectation/potential that the media seem to love putting onto all these young blokes.

Love to see someone drive a shoulder up into smiths ribs Zinzan Brooke style and break a couple......one can dream right?
