Everyone chasing the ball, falling on top of it when it pops up. They get rewarded when they miss, they get rewarded for a task that is expected in most sports (catching the ball), they claim to be some sort of athletic specimens (rexonas greatest athlete and boxing charity event tells me they are not at all, it takes more than running long distances to make you the best athlete in the world). That's what's shit about the sport.

Also, that example lol... I've had mates that weren't into soccer, lived in England, turned into tragic, same with one mate who went to USA with gridiron. Then I've got keen nrl fans who come from Victoria but have lived up here or nsw for years. What's your point? Does that make those sports amazing? NO. It's called tribalism, it's a sense of belonging, its community. Ffs the arrogance of afl people is insane, they honestly believe its the rest of the world missing out on this amazing sport.

I wasn’t going to derail this thread further but I will because so much of this is pure rubbish and I just some idiot tell me ‘you American all do...’ and I told him 100 times, ‘Dude, for the 100th time, I am NOT American!!’

And yeah, rugby league is so popular worldwide too isn’t it. It’s played by two states in Australia as a primary sport, huge point in favour of it there.

It’s so big in the islands it’s behind union...UNION!

It is basically the fourth most popular sport in England behind soccer, cricket, union and antiques roadshow.

AFL is actually played in multiple countries and is an extremely popular sport in Ireland, albeit with different rules but of course you knew all this.

Regardless, AFL is FAR more popular Australia wide than league, it isn’t even close. I wish the NRL was run half as well as the AFL is because then it could be the extremely popular and successful game that it should be.

I also made national rep sides for hockey at school, I deadset couldn’t tell you what the rules are today or that I even enjoyed it and that’s fine.

Not everyone has to love everything but these ‘I played it this one time at school so know better than anyone else’ kinda of attitude are very reminiscent of bogan supporting philosophies.

You don’t like it, that’s fine but I also don’t see why people like you feel the need to bag our supporters who might like both sports.

I like most of your posts, but I just had to bite and go on a rant of my own (and we’ll done. I don’t agree with you on this one but I did love reading the rant haha)

I feel like as a club we rarely ever fight even obviously bad charges. Good. Stick it up this dickhead judiciary system, even if we don't win, go into every case and show obvious bad examples and shine a light on the corrupt inconsistencies.

Anyone know if that’s likely to happen in TPJ’S case.

Nope. This was only talked about in the context of next year and is just an "idea". I don't think it'll happen at all personally.
 
If we beat Souths then I'm willing to put this season down as a pass mark.

With all the changes we've had, letting players go, blooding young players, overhaul of systems and coaching staff etc, we've done okay if you really think about it.

It's far from where we want to be but despite everything that's happened, we're okay. We must beat Souths though.

Rugby league isn't popular world wide but comparing afl to rugby league on the world stage is like comparing rugby league to soccer. Afl has a sport similar being played in Ireland... So?

I wasnt bagging supporters like yourself, simply pointing out why I don't like it and that a lot of people don't... But again, the true arrogance/ignorance of afl fans shines through "how could you not like it?!"...ALOT OF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT AND NEVER WILL. Its been getting rammed down our throats for years in the media and still isn't the top sport in Nsw, QLD or act (which makes up more than half the australian population). BTW, league is also popular in PNG (population 8 million) and growing in the Pacific, has actual proper Leagues in dozens of countries (not 25 ex pat aussie getting together like the afl claims is a footprint in a country), and if its a joke that league is behind Union in those countries then what does that make afl? Lol

Listening to Locky on the footy show this morning it sounds as though Milf may go back into the halves with Isaako to FB and I'm guessing Darius also stays in the halves..
Locky gave the impression that Dearden still isn't ready.
What is going on with SoS? I would have thought he would have come back into the halves, instead of playing around again with moving Milf..

I wouldn't mind this, I think it's a great idea. Isaako showed he has a pass on him , has great footwork, speed and strength. And milf at least can give us some cohesion in the halves, it's a chance to bring in Farnsworth as well.

I’ve been enjoying not worrying about Milford’s defence though. He seems fresher in attack too.
