I think he's fairly low risk for the potential reward he offers. Any alternatives inhouse or external are either older and already proven to offer fairly limited upside (Sezer) or are just as young and unproven as Dearden.

Croft is a great fit for Brisbane right now, and Brisbane right now is a great fit for Croft.

Now if only Macca and Boyd can be taken off the books to make this happen. Bird too preferably.

Even one of Boyd / Macca would be a great start.

Bird is realistically staying so we may as well make peace with that now. If a Sydney club was going to take him off our hands they'd have likely made a move before now.

With news that Cowboys have Holmes tied up, I want Bird to stay. I only wanted to lose bird if it meant getting Holmes / a high end fullback.

Ideal Round 1 2020

1. Isaako
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Bird
5. Coates / Boyd (if we have to)
6. Milford
7. Croft / Dearden
8. Lodge
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Fifita
12. TPJ
13. Glenn (C)
14. Paix / Macca
15. Flegler
16. Carrigan
17. Gillett / Offa

Great looking side. I reckon Herbie has the jump on Coates at this point.

Yeah Herbie seemed good, I just liked Coates ability in the air. If we got a decent kicker could get some easy points.
Yeah, for sure. He definitely had the more
exciting debut. Hopefully they both get good chances next season. Both in ISC and NRL.

We have Arthars too, who is probably above both of them at this stage.

You're right on the money with that back line. I think your Forward Pack and Bench are a different story though.

-Glenn is very unlikely to go back into the middle. It's been a decade since he last played in the middle and the game in that role is very different now to how it was in 2008.

- Ofahengaue is the first Prop picked after Lodge and Haas. I know you hate him but you're just on another planet if you think he's not going to be on our Bench in front of the others.

- Paix shouldn't be coming off our Bench unless we suffer injuries. He'll learn far more getting good minutes in Queensland Cup in the early part of next year than he will playing junk minutes for us each week.

So can anyone tell me what is it that stops the Broncos from signing someone like a Charnze or Bateman?

We that bad at identifying our weaknesses and identifying undervalued talent?

Could Jesse Arthars produce anything Charnz like for us? Probably not.. But would be nice.

I watch all warriors games and rated cnk before he left, but there’s no way you could predict him going nuts like he did this season. Put it this way, there’s more evidence for Isaako being a quality fb next year than there was for CNK at the start of this year.

Are you talking about John Bateman? He was extremely well known for years and years before he went to Canberra. I dont think you can put him in the same bracket as Klokstad.

Could it possibly be, dare I say, because Ricky Stuart is a good coach??
