Dean Ritchie writes in the The Daily Telegraph tomorrow:

David Fifita is about to sign with Brisbane despite multimillion offers from a who's who of clubs. 12 all up - count 'em - showed interest. While there's no formal agreement yet, the Sydney recruiters insist he's staying put. According to Ritchie one well-known recruitment manager said: “I think we’re all being used. He is staying at the Broncos. There’s been a wall go up around him from his management team since Bali.”

Thank Broncos' welfare officer Adam Walsh for springing him from that Seminyak drunk tank. That's why he feels obliged. They reckon.

He goes on to quote various club CEO's waxing about Fifita's talent stack. We don't need to be told any of that; we already know.

How dare the broncos retain local talent!!!?? Seriously, these are the same clowns chirping on that the NRL should chip in to keep the turbo bros at manly to promote retention of local talent.

I love this.
The only thing that these clubs will be saying now is “it’s all because of what happened in Bali.” The syd clubs need to make themselves feel better one way or another. He was never leaving, whether the incident happened in Bali or not.

It’s funny, if we re-sign him, we might be the first club who’s wishful signing involves 3 players leaving instead of players re-signing or recruitment.

I also note he uses the old journos trick of writing that Brisbane denies paying any of the 30K to get Fifita out. Wink, wink, I’m not going to say they paid it put but all you pleb readers can put two and two together and get 44 just like me.
