This. No way some anon on Triple M knows the Broncos plans 12 months in advance.

I hope we get him though, I think his odds of staying with the Knights are close to 0%.

Absolutely, all that smoke down in Sydney must've cut off oxygen to this clown's brain.
Don't know when he made it up, but there was something in the air that night, or he's not bright, Fernando.
 
I've said it before, but if we by some chance land Kalyn, we are premiership contenders for the next 10 years with a team including Brodie, Haas, Xavier and Fifita. Ponga is, in my opinion, the closest we are going to get to another Lockyer-type player any time soon. I would be saying adios to Milf in a heartbeat if it gives us more chance of landing Kalyn. From the first time I laid eyes on him in a Youtube video playing schoolboy rugby, I have been in absolute awe of this once in a generation player.

Not as ludicrous as paying Milford and Bird 1m a year or Boyds 750.
Don't think it will happen though.
 
It’s a ridiculous price but if you asked me right now if I’d trade Bird and Boyd (reportedly on a combined contract of almost 1.5’) for Ponga I’d say “take Kahu and Macca too”
 
It's probably BS, but he's got a full year to show what he's worth.

Yeah if the $800k for reported $800k for Boyd and $800-900k for bird is true, getting rid of them could get Ponga and a depth player.
 
Wasn’t the winemaker putting his house on Fifita going to Souths within the last 6 weeks. He pretty guaranteed Fifita was gone.

We know Boyd is the third highest paid bronco and Bird I believe is around 750k pa. From what I've seen Boyd's contract was less than that over the 4 years, best guesses were 700 for the first 3 years and dropping to 400 for the last with an average of 625k over the 4. It sounded about right being 2.5 million over the 4 years.

I know I don't have precise details but I'd be extremely surprised if we paid 800k for either. Naturally I could be wrong.

Drops? From how much to 600k? From what I understand there is a role (dealing with mental health) for Boyd after his playing days are over as a part of the contract. I don't believe for a moment the reported 800 pa but hey, who knows for sure. If it was so Bird must be on even more and I just don't imagine WB was okay with spending that much on a centre/fullback. I know it wasn't just up to him so I suppose the board might have been okay with it. Seems unlikely though. The Broncos have always been frugal.
