NEWS Badel: Seibold won't send Darius to QLD Cup

Can we just have a "unappreciation thread - darius boyd" and funnel all comments into there.

like shit. boyd sucks. we know it. everyone knows it. he's still gonna be in the team come round 1 so let's shit up just one thread instead of every single one.

I'm not 100% sure he will be there round 1. He will likely be on the wing, if at all. Staggs definitely has right centre sewn up, and you would imagine Bird has left centre. Oates has left wing, and the only position currently available is right wing. Yes, Boyd is probably the front runner, but if he doesn't perform in trials and someone like Coates, Arthurs, Herbie or Perese does, he might not start.

The way Seibs referred to him as a 'multi-position' player, I wouldn't even be shocked if he's on the bench.

I have said on numerous occasions I get why people have a go at Boyd. I've been critical of his performances as well. Still doesn't change though that you can't hold players to different standards. There should be one standard for any player who pulls on a Broncos shirt. You have to accept mistakes, no player is perfect, but the standards have to be there for everyone with no excuses.

If I was to guess as to why the playing group has not turned on Darius, I would think it might have something to do with our young, impressionable team and Darius being our Oldest, most experienced and likely most respected player within the team.

Nobody has said his excuse for his effort is the respect he gets from his team mates. That's clearly something you have made up.

Lol. What excuses do I make? seibs is the one who keeps picking Boyd but it suits people’s agenda’s (both of them) to say he’s being forced. Why can’t people just accept that the buck stops with the coach and he keeps picking him 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think they make the excuse because selecting him makes literally no sense whatsoever. Seibold doesn't appear to be a complete moron. The way the club has been run in recent years, i don't think anyone would be surprised if they do force him to play Boyd.

You have never acknowledged that we were a team on the decline under him. In any case you have no insider knowledge so I know you can't say that with any certainty even though you do. I believe he's not being forced(but maybe he is) but the reasons outlined by BP seem pretty reasonable to me. If he is getting picked while sucking hard next year I won't be making any excuses for Seibs, I probably won't take the game so seriously if it happens. It is afterall just a game.

Well I did giveyou a couple of oppurtunities to offer some criticisms of his last tenure and you ignored me both times. You came across as someone who thinks he was perfect in every way and you would always have an excuse as to why it any criticisms weren't his fault, Ben Hunt being my personal favourite. Anyway this is a thread about Boyd and he's shit.

Because Seibold didn't have a say in renewing his contract.

I believe with the way everything worked out, if Seibold was to drop Boyd it would have been akin to chopping his nose off to spite his face.

that’s false. I always have said he was unable to get the team up for games against lesser opponents and it cost him his job. But yeah that’s been done to death.
