OFFICIAL David Fifita signs with the Titans

I hope we keep him as long as we don’t get forced into overpaying for him. He either stays here on $700k or he can piss off.
 
If it’s true he knocked back a $1.1 million offer, then it does seem an extra $125k isn’t really going to make a difference. How much of that would he actually get?
 
Say Dave stays at the Broncos, it would be interesting to hear what salary they have touted to him post 2021.
We know that this will only be a year contract at 700k, but I am sure the Broncos would of said something along the lines of...hey mate, 2022+ we should have some more $ in the cap (bird, milf, Boyd gone) we will up you to say 900k for 4yrs, or something like that..
I also wouldn’t be fully against him singing for 1.25m at the titans for 2021 and then on Nov 1 this year, he sign a 4yr deal or something similar at the Broncos. Crazy I know, but it could easily happen..

I think the Titans would prefer he plays for them rather than just showing off his vocal prowess! I've heard he's okay but 1.25 million a season just for one singer is ridiculous!! You could get a good choir for that cash and hear Carmina Burana before each game!

Milf and Bird off the cap in 2022. If we wanted to match the tits' in 2022 surely we could (I don't think he's worth over a mil or even a mil at this stage).
 
I'd like to see BHQ be better than this. I'm seeing lots of "he can piss off" and "**** Fifita" vibes. At this stage, the guy is taking a massive paycut to stay with us despite our struggles. If anything, we should be building a statue for the kid at this point.

I'll erect the statue once I see his name on the dotted line, until then, I'll pretend to be indifferent whilst subconsciously shitting bricks that we're about to lose my favourite player to watch.
 
This is the only situation I would put PO in a contract if that seals the deal.
 
He woke up on the right side of the bed yesterday morning I can only assume he will do that again today.
It’s my opinion that his instincts are telling him he will be well looked after better if he stays at the Broncs and my advice to him would be to back those instincts.

We used to be able to say "why would you go to that basket case of a club?" but now we're the basket case.

The guy is a freakish talent, he could be a stalwart for Origin and the Kangaroos for a decade. We've got to lock him up.
 
Much respect to Dave if he knocks back the Titans offer and stays, it really would say a lot about his commitment and love for the club, I could certainly understand if he took the cash for a year.

Exactly... he's said he's holding out so he doesnt have to pay his manager (who sit right next to NSWRL journos in terms of scum). He's not holding out for more money from the Broncos.

Titans are the ones throwing huge money at him, he's not asking them for contracts, Mal just comes out in the media and throws more money at him despite Fifita coming out and saying time and again that he wants to stay with the Broncos long term.

I'd hardly call him a mercenary when he has knocked back several large offers already and now titans are near doubling our offer.

If he stays despite that pressure then he's up there with some of the most loyal players to ever be at the club.

The NRL need to sort out player contracts because right now the titans are throwing cash at him, but they're not registering anything with the NRL before doing it.

The NRL surely know that a contract of that size will cause huge issues with their cap moving forward, but seemingly don't care

Used to say the Broncs never lost a player we wanted to keep. Where are the Thoroughbreds when you need them.

Is he though? Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the latest was the Titans came back with an even bigger offer and he is seriously consideringit?
 
The Titans are really flirting with humiliation if he does end up staying for a little more than half what they're offering.
