Should Seibold be sacked immediately?

I’m not trying to be funny, but in all seriousness. If you left any of the top 8 teams without a coach and said “figure it out amongst yourselves” would any of them be as bad as we are?

i was looking at the footage of Milf slumped over in sheds after Melbourne, and it had me thinking about the boys crying after the game, and all the shit these young fellas have to listen to and deal with. I actually don’t believe any of them don’t care at all. It’s cruel what this club is putting these kids though.
 
I am starting to think we should cut ties with Seibold immediately regardless of the consequences.
The damage has been done.
I don't think you can associate a Broncos side with him as coach without these record breaking losses creeping into the subconscious of all involved.
It got too bad, too fast, and we now have a team that has zero confidence in their coach, and even if they string together some wins, the mental scars from these past 7 weeks will be deep and hard to heal.
Nothing short of winning the comp next season will undo the damage that has been done this year.
I worry that the young guys on the team will be damaged long term by this string of losses at a club with expectations as high as the Broncos.
Confidence is key to winning games, and what has happened to this team since the resumption of the season has been disastrous.
Think about Ben Hunt, he has never been the same player since the GF loss at his hands, now imagine that happening to these kids week in week out. ( maybe not as bad as poor Hunt but close ).
I don't have any answers, but i think Seibold has done himself in with the way we have lost.
Losing is fine, it builds character, and strength and teaches you from your mistakes, but losing the way the Broncos have been this season, conceding loads of points, record breaking floggings and getting beaten soundly every single game will have long term effects on such a young side.

Cutting Seibold loose and starting over from scratch may be the only way some of these young guys can move past this nightmare season psychologically.
 
If this Nui father comment is legit, you’re losing Nui in 12 months and Haas will probably ask for an early release to play with his mates.

I’d release the coach now before further damage is done

More than ever, I believe his job is being meddled with by those above him (ie choosing his playing group) as the ineptitude at the top is only becoming more and more obvious.

I’ve lost a lot of faith in him tbh, but I really don’t see a viable alternative and believe we may as well let him try and achieve what he has set out to do (which is a massive job in itself) while we survey the market for a premium coach, not just another knee-jerk reaction which will continue to set us back further and further.

What the board has shown and they way they have handled things is quite frankly a train wreck. They fluffed around on fifita but didn't have the foresight to understand he would walk for the money. ( i agree they did the right thing sticking to their guns on dollars).

Too many times they have allowed terrible contracts, terrible pricing and then used the value of those contracts as reasons an under performer should be kept in the team. They knew seibold is a young coach, and anyone could clearly see he is struggling, their support should have been in the form of "drop this player or that player, we will back you".

Sure seibold is out of his depth, but hes also fighting rot that wont stop until certain players go and certain players arent paid as much.

another thing I don’t get is why Seibold’s contract was so huge and long? He was coach for the year, sure but he was a total rookie. I find it hard to believe that other clubs were offering anything even close to that length or price, let alone both.

it’s the same old story. Boyd was a far better player at the time he re-signed then he is now, but surely no one was threatening to throw him anywhere near what we did.

Someone in the office is way too generous.
 
Seibs style is reminding me a of a coach I once had.
@Wolfie might know of him.
Shovels was his nickname.
He was at Redcliffe and tried to change their DNA from playing hard aggressive football.
He didn't like wasting energy on aggression in defence just tackle the opposition effectively without wasting energy.
It didn't work back then it doesn't work now.
You have to hit and intimidate in attack as well.
Seibs coaches soft, imo. Hes all about mtrs and tackle efficiency and stats, its soft rubbish that does not work in a hard game.
Reddy won the C grade that year under Fester( nickname) who maintained the old Redcliffe ways.
His team snuck into the 4 and his pre game talk before every game especially in the finals was pretty basic, just bash the *****.
Get up for the fight and the football will follow.

Are they seriously going to hide behind an end of year review and roll this guy out for another 9 weeks of beltings and demoralization?

I can’t remember a coaching situation as clear cut as this in the NRL. He has no idea and no one wants to play for him.
 
I feel this is a classic case of a very clever assistant coach out of his depth and lacking the experience and people skills as a head coach. You can see the players are lost and confused and nobody has the strength of character to lead them from the mire. Seibolds comment that there were good signs in the first 40 minutes against the Storm doesn't cut it for me. I know he's trying to maintain a positive outlook but seriously there is no sugar coating how terrible we are playing. The test for Seibold was always going to be winning over the senior players getting them motivated and firing, he's experienced with under 20's so he probably feels comfortable influencing the younger players in the group. The fact is Boyd Milford and Oates, and to a lesser extent Ofahengaue and TPJ have all gone backwards under Seibold which suggests he's lost the senior group. Unfortunately there is no turning the ship around now, either he or the players have to go. The theory of allowing him time to mould a young group over the course of his tenure is not good enough. The board are probably sitting around now pondering the exit strategy, but a good CEO would not let this go on one week longer and he should not see out the season. The young players and the fans deserve better.

I think by the time these guys get to grade they shouldn’t need the wheel to be reinvented for them, it’s a simple game, keep it simple.

This is never as obvious than watching any team that plays Melbourne. They never beat Melbourne by playing cute and efficient, every time Melbourne lose a game it's because the opposition came in and want to smash them. It's how Cronulla have a good record against them, they're not afraid, they go in and rattle them. Melbourne are so good that it doesn't always work, but when you play hard and sting in defence, the attack is always going to be a bit more hesitant to take on the line, think twice before they run, make mistakes while they pass because they're afraid of getting belted. It's not the magic trick to winning the game like you say, but when your base line is tackling and hurting them, the footy follows.

It's frustrating stuff. The first 30 minutes against Melbourne we were monstering them and it showed on the scoreboard, then we went back to passive rubbish defence and we fell apart.
 
Bulldogs have upset the knights so are now only 2pts behind us and have a much better differential.

I didn't watch the game but I'm gonna guess Luke Thompson is making a fair bit of difference for them? Exactly the type of aggressive, plain, no-bs forward me need. Was hoping teo would give a bit of that but he's too past it

Thompson was alright but it was Tolman and Napa who impressed me. Terrible conditions and Newcastle's error rate killed them off today.

Plus Newcastle picked up three injuries, at least two very serious.
