Round 19 - Eels vs Broncos

I hope to god this is just a one off season.

The game was always going to shift once the Eels brought on Paulo and Lane. They've been treated it as a training run and even then they've handled the Broncos relatively comfortably. Once Oates made his back to back mistakes, it just opened up the floodgates and the Eels have gone on with it.

No surprises really for the Broncos. They're just going through the motions at this stage trying to put in an honest effort but they're so down on troops and confidence it's taken it's toll. It's come down to a 19 year old to get them across the park and he just doesn't have that in him at this stage.

I'd like to see the Broncos employ a devil may care attitude to their play. I'd like to see Staggs and Dearden really get their hands dirty, and look to run first and pass later, really go at their big forwards in the middle.

Go back and watch them, James, the reffing is atrocious. "Victim mentality" is an easy word to throw around, but really, there are a lot of factors, including damaging the psyche of a very young team. Compare that to teams who benefited from these calls who were able to find, establish and develop form.
Every god damn club has fans whining about how hard done by they are. There can't be conspiracies against all of them.

I watch every game of ours and we occasionally get bad calls, which I will bitch about like a good fan does. What I won't do is make nonsensical calls about conspiracies when there is no reason for one to exist.

Watching footy on 9. Just saw a bundy add where they’re saying if your team finishes bottom of the ladder, at least you can mix your drink with your wooden spoon. **** me. Felt like a stab in the back from a good mate. Maybe this year’s made me overly sensitive or something.

Sportsbet's a pretty good reason.

How many multis you think last night's upset fried? And some pretty suss calls in that one. $$$$ in the bank.

Mate, you don't see Penrith fans whinging about it. We are playing poorly, but those other fans have been a lot slower to start disliking the 6-agains. Over time these more recent games, the refs have been getting far better at managing the games. That being said, the damage to our team has been done.

Surprised Henry didn't call knock on... I suppose bitch face moses is having a squeal trying to get a captain's challenge in

Of course you do. You also see Roosters fans year after year claiming to be the most hard done by club in the comp. They even back it up with some cherry picked stats.

This victim mentality has got to stop at some point. Apparently the turning point where our season went to shit was against Manly, the week after we lost 59-0 against the Roosters. 🤷‍♂️
Fucken oath.

The rot started way back when the dragons humiliated us in finals week 1 at Suncorp.
