NRL Player Movements & Rumours

That's one step forward, two steps back for us. Yes it would be nice to finally have a good hooker, but we're already desperately weak in the backline. @Wolfie will eat me alive for this, but a trade like Carrigan or TPJ for BSmith would make more sense for us.
Sorry, in my view no Winger in the comp is worth retaining if you have the chance to recruit a gun Dummy Half. Dummy Half is probably the most crucial role in a modern NRL team and Brandon Smith would instantly improve our spine and probably firm up our currently slim Top 8 chances almost on his own. Coates is a fine prospect but it's hard to see him having that much impact on our season.

Again, why is it that every Broncos player is rumoured to be chased by 10 clubs and their price going through the roof, yet the roosters re-sign 2 proven and young talented 1st graders and not a bloody whisper! Not 1 other club interested in this consistent premiership winning clubs young players, rather 10 other clubs would prefer players who delivered the Broncos their 1st ever wooden spoon. Makes total sense...

I have a feeling at least one reason is because the roosters refuse to talk to player that have (had) Isaac Moses as their agent. The roosters don’t let player agents bend them over.

We seem to be getting boned by agents in every opening. This includes players not re-signing before they go on open market, and agents paying “journalists” to create media stir over unproven juniors to raise their price.

The solution is simple in theory but hard
to implement. A) Don’t deal with any players or coaches associated with Moses’ agency, or request that they change agents before we’ll negotiate with them. B) Any player who goes waits until they are on the open market to re-sign get 1 month to decide if they’re re-signing or not. If no decision is made by the preseason we withdraw our offer and tell them they are free to do as they want the rest of the year because they aren’t needed at training or game day.

Paix to the Bulldogs is the latest from The Mole.

The CM/DT reporting that contract demands for Josh Mansour and Corey Allen are proving a stumbling block for getting them deals at rival clubs.

For Josh Mansour, the stumbling block is the length of the deal. clubs have offered 1 or 2 year deals, but the 30 year old Mansour is demanding a 3 year deal.

For Corey Allen it is not surprisingly, contract value. the DT says he is on 330k a year with the Rabbitohs ... but he (or his manager) are demanding 500k a year, which has scared interested clubs off.

How about demanding 500k per year when you are as good as, say, JAC?
