Pre-season

Meantime........

We've seen this song and dance before. "Oh look they're training the house down they're in for a big year!"

*Finishes last*

Video of dudes pumping iron doesn't impress me. If I really wanted to see that I'd wander down to the local gym. Results do.

I went out on a limb in the past about Isaako and I think he is very under rated and has the ability to become a real fan favourite for Bronco supporters. I thought I saw something in him that most don't, on here at least.

I have made bum calls in the past and I'd blame no one if they thought my opinion is shit on this. My view is that maturity and a settled life will, over the next 24 months result in a genuine quality top grader. Note, didn't use superstar here but even that may be possible.
Huge, has someone hacked your posts or are you on a low dose of valium, mate where is that self opinionated Huge we all like

I just hope they’re getting in enough tackling practice and some bloody wrestling!

Perfect physical specimens are great. What about some actual football smarts and ability, though?

Is that too much to ask our recruiters?

I think we can all hold our heads up because it was evident that the issue last year was state of the team not quality... I know it’s a small sample size but we beat the cowboys and a preliminary final team white comfortably... I expect a big and exciting year from the boys and back in the winners circle

Not the biggest bloke, not the most talented bloke, but played absolutely flat out and as hard as possible. Every minute.

Now I see he’s a PHD candidate in neuroscience. Hard to imagine any of today’s morons, earning the ridiculous money they are, will follow a path like that after they retire.
Yep, one bloke you could say absolutely hand on heart managed to scrape every last ounce of talent he had within him out into a very successful career.

You really should know by now that it absolutely is.

Hey, we got former aspiring Maroon Dale Copley back this year though...

All I remember about him is his hair going everywhere on every collision, no matter the force involved. Very expressive hair.
I think I'll always think of him as kind of an end of an era for Front Rowers. They don't make them like that, nor do they even really play like that anymore. I reckon Lang was basically the last of his kind and even he was pretty late to the party for that style of Front Rower.

I reckon you could argue Matt Scott and Matt Lodge are kind of in that mould but with bigger motors and a bit more force.

I'd say both, Lodge in particular, have quite a bit more ball playing ability and general skill set than Lang. Lodge actually has a quality offload, whereas I don't know if I can ever recall Lang throwing one at all. Its hard to line up to throw an offload when you're running flat stick and you only have eyes for charging right through or over the top of the defensive line.

Farnworth & Niu training at centre today according to the CM.

Can probably more or less lock in the back 7 for Round 1 now, excluding left wing, which is still presumably up for grabs.

1. Jamayne Isaako
2. ??????? (Corey Oates, David Mead, Dale Copley, Richie Kennar, Jesse Arthars)
3. Herbie Farnworth
4. Tesi Niu
5. Xavier Coates
6. Anthony Milford
7. Thomas Dearden

Are we certain Farnworth won’t play wing? Copley at centre ?

Read the first line of the post you just quoted.

Niu & Farnworth trained exclusively at centre, rotating between left and right. I'd say they're very likely to be our centres come Round 1.

Well that's just prime.

Two rookie centres probably not a good idea.

Anyone if any of the train and trial players have stood out yet?
