Round 6 - Broncos vs Panthers

I was paying attention for the whole game - which is something I haven’t said for a while.

Lots of positives there. I thought TPJ, Haas, Lodge and Bully were all strong in the forwards. Croft has his best game in a Broncos jersey and Isaako (kick on first aside) was good. I also thought Oates really stood up - particularly in defence.

Disappointing to lose after being so close, but certainly a much, much better performance than I think anyone was expecting.

wow, that was an incredible performance and we actually resembled an NRL team for the first time in 2 years. That must be the end of milford in the broncos 6. i think we must persist with croft and dearden now and let them grow in their positions. add in karmichael hunt at left centre to give them the guidance and experience and this team will be on their way up.
 
Great effort from the lads tonight.
We probably beat most teams in the comp tonight, just goes to show that we desperately need that experienced half.
Special mention to Haas, TPJ, Lodge, Oates and Croft.
Not sold on Kennar, Flegler or Mead.
A lot of positives to take out of that game, Kev would have to be pretty happy with that one.
Now it’s time to back it up next week!
 
Milford wont be putting on a Broncos jersey again, surely. A completely different team. When you find something that works you stick to it and build on it. Hunt will bring experience and knows how to get the guys talking on the field again. The Boyd/Milford era of quiet misery on the field has got to come to an end.

Do we? Or do we just go back to passing it to him on the last. You could be right of course but are our forwards as a effective if we're carrying Milf on the bench instead of the extra forward to sub one of them out for a spell? I don't know about that.

100% this. Milford has been choking the team with his 5th tackle stupidity. Just dumb after dumb, followed by dumb then more dumb.

Croft is 100x the game manager Milford is, and has 100x the heart, even if he isn't the most gifted footy player. He will do a job and doesn't cost a fortune.
 
I’m happy for Dearden to start taking a few more of those calls from the cowboys. There’s definitely a lack of good 7’s in the game and Deardens manager will prey on that no doubt, anything over $300k and 2 years is overs for him atm until he’s shown more.
 
Couple hard decisions against us too. Aside from the head high the player took out Oates going for the ball...fucking perfect spot for the challenge.
Not surprised by Croft. Dearden off the pace but good in patches. Pretty innocuous. Haas, Lodge, TPJ, very good. Isaako and Oates, very good. Mead pretty solid. A few others put in so overall a great team effort.

Against any other team that level of execution and commitment would see us win more than we lose. 8.5 out of 10.

If Milford plays instead of Dearden we win. Dearden looks like a little boy who can’t tackle, pass or set up a try if his life depended on it
 
Flegler fk mate..... two stupid gifts to the panthers nearly wrecked us. Made up for it a bit later but someone needs to shred him over those two just plain dumb decisions when he first got on. Games have been lost on less.

We gotta watch the forward passes too... saw several not called tonight.

Other than that and taking attacking kick rights off isaako... great game considering our recent history.
