NEWS Congratulations: we're NOT wooden spooners again

In the same way Seibold was not responsible for all the personnel changes that have taken place, the same is true for Kevvie. Granted, both made some utterly baffling calls to drop or retain certain players. but injuries and suspensions have absolutely played their part too.

If he's seeing no future in the likes of Milford etc then I'm fine with him taking stock of what he has left for the remainder of this year. He's evidently working on recruitment and we've already had a pretty good win there with Reynolds, which is far more than we managed under Seibold.

Let's see where we finish up this year and over the offseason for recruitment, which doesn't seem like it's over yet, before we start to really compare this season and Walters to what we did with 2019/2020.
It's the hope that is killing me.

So the ladder looks like the below and our record against each team is provided.

1 Panthers - 0-1 (play again rd 19)
2 Storm - 0-2
3 Eels - 0-2
4 Rabbitohs - 0-1 (about to play again)
5 Roosters - 1-0 (play again in Rd 22)
6 Manly - 0-1 (dont have to play again ... WTF 😳😳)
7 Cows - 0-1 (play again in Rd 20)
8 Dragons - 0-1
9 Sharks - haven't played yet
10 Raiders - 0-1 (dont play again... so we had to play them in Canberra in the middle of winter on a Saturday night... luck of the draw amirite)
11 Warriors - haven't played yet
12 Titans - 1-1
13 Tigers - haven't played yet
14 Knights - haven't played yet
15 Broncos
16 Dogs - 1-0 (dont get to play again)

So 13 rounds into the season and we've only played 3 teams outside of the 8 and we're 2/4 vs them.

Anyone who doesnt think the draw has royally raped us is kidding themselves.

By comparison the cowboys have only played 4 teams INSIDE the 8 and they are 0/4 vs them
Watch the Tigers, Knights & Warriors get key players back from injury and hit a form surge just as they face us.

They won't need any of that to beat us. Their current standard is more than enough to put us to the sword.

**** that shit. Whinging about the draw is even more pissweak than whinging about the ref. We're the Broncos. We don't make pitiful excuses. We take on the hardest teams and we thrash them at their own ground.

If we have to play the Storm in Melbourne, round one and the Roosters in Sydney, week two. So be it. This isn't a multi-tiered competition where some teams need a high chair.

We don't need to be treated like babies. Fucking hell. This isn't kindergarten. We don't need a merit badge for our finger painting. Get up you sooks. The lot of you.

I appreciate the passion, but facts are facts, and we are not a 'good' team anymore. We haven't even beaten Melbourne at OUR ground since 2009, let alone at theirs. To put that in perspective, Karmichael Hunt who played in that game has gone on to have an entire career in two other codes, then come back to us, and we still haven't won there in that time.

Ergo, when comparing us to the other bottom placed sides at the mid way point, it's entirely relevant to point out that some sides have already played a higher percentage of the top sides than the others and that this will somewhat even out by the time the season is complete.

We suck, but the ladder is a little misleading in terms of just how badly we suck relative to the other sides around us.

Sure, we're shit. But that's not the NRL's problem. They have to treat every team as if it's a level playing field. It shouldn't matter to them which team plays which when. They're all the same in the competition's eyes. That said, it's also in everyone's best interest to promote the notion of local derbies and "rivalries," so there might be some consideration into the marketing and timing of such matchups.

I'm not suggesting it's the NRL's problem or that it's been deliberately done to disadvantage us, I'm simply pointing out that for whatever reason it's occurred, the Draw has been particularly harsh for us so far relative to the sides around us, and I expect when our run home evens it up a little, we should see us make up a little bit of ground on some of the clubs who have a much tougher run home.

Funny how the spooners get the toughest draw in the comp the following season. How tf does this even happen.
Yeah we’re not big brother of Qld anymore. I think it’s the cowboys turn to be facing the top 8 teams more next year.

Maybe, but every team we play this year is higher ranked than us and we just got our arses handed to us by the Dragons and Canberra, and in the second round by the Titans. There isn't a draw possible that would be kind to us. Every game is a potential thrashing, home or away. The only way the NRL could be kind to us would be to award us 25 byes.

Haha, the cowboys wish they had our pull both with crowds and ratings. Even when we are bad people want to watch us get towelled up. When cows are bad, they are just bad and no one cares.

For those of you trying to look on the bright side when it comes to our draw, we've already lost to the Cows, the Dragons and Canberra in the past month. Why do we have any reason to think the easier draw at the back end of the season is going to amount to anything?
