OFFICIAL Kevin Walters Steps Down As Broncos Coach

I respect Walters for everything he put into the Brisbane Broncos team but he'll be alot better in media no doubt.

As a head coach in the NRL, he only has the Broncos on his CV, but Walters is more than willing to coach elsewhere.

“I’m gonna coach again,” Walters declared.

“We will see what happens in the next 12 to 24 months. But coaching is my passion. I love working in the NRL.

“’ve got a lot of belief in myself and I get great comfort and confidence out of what happened at the Broncos. We got to a grand final.”

He was always viewed as a good guy and got the broncos to GF on “broncos spirit”

Ultimately it was the hard edge and “we are not mates- I am the boss “ that was missing

Madge will have a good relationship with players but if they do not perform he will not be afraid to extricate the non performers

The difference is chalk and cheese and with so many off contract soon he has the ability to move players on

They're all still bullshitting this was related to the end of season review. They clearly cherrypicked Michael Collins to take the fall for a decision they'd already made. I have no idea when Donuts made the decision, but the signs were there long before then:

1. The mass exodus of coaching staff that started after the Grand Final.
2. The unexpected failure in Vegas.
3. Rothwell leaking it in August.
4. Opposition coaches making a mockery of our structures.
5. Rumours about him losing the dressing room.
6. The defensive "Billy was good too" comment after Billy's worst game in the jersey.
7. Taking a shot at Travis Meyn in the press conference.
8. The continuous promise that we were almost there, we just had to execute his plans.
9: Widespread speculation that he would have until x weeks into the next season.

At least the consolation prize of him remaining a "club ambassador" has been quietly put to rest.

Who cares?

That's what he was paid to do and he did it. Not to mention the state of the side when he took over the job.

The "x's and o's" spirit of Seibold certainly didn't work.
