Ben Te'o? Get absolutely ****ed! Also Kevvie again, no ****ing way! Love what he achieved as a player and as a coach to bring us out of the wooden spoon period but firstly, he doesn't have much more to offer as a coach past pride in the jersey that only gets you so far. Secondly, the absolute ****ing shitstorm his mates in the media have caused after his tantrum and eventually sacking means we could never, ever go there again because at some point he would need to be moved on again and it would all happen all over again.

Jeez look at that list of candidates... how has Madge still got a job with the list of names there.

Who would want a multi-premiership winning coach when you could bring in someone prestigious like Darius Boyd and his 3 weeks experience coaching the Qld U19's

The historical revisionism of kevvie’s coaching is something else, anyone would think we had won multiple comps & the players all raved about his intellect & elocution, instead of the reality of a single finals appearance in 4 years, players openly criticising his ability as a coach & the verbal diarrhea he thinks is English.

He also took the club from being a basket case to within 5 minutes of a premiership against the greatest team in NRL history. He did a pretty outstanding job.

History is now repeating with all of the injuries like it did in 2024.

Kevvie did a great job up until the pressure got to him. Maguire might end up doing the same.

I'm absolutely not on the sack Maguire train, just like I was not on the sack Kevvie train but Maguire does have history with his sides going backwards, so it is a concern.

That said, I'm giving Maguire 2026 as a mulligan because the injuries, like 2024, have completely derailed the season, that isn't his fault.

However, given we are in desperate need of another second rower or three and have re-signed Paix, Piki and Bunt while bringing in a geriatric centre (no matter how well he is currently playing reportedly) while losing all the backs depth, there are real concerns around the direction of the squad.

2027 is going to very much be make or break for Maguire but AND THIS IS A MASSIVE CAVEAT, the club needs to sort out the R&R and pathways systems because if we don't sort this out, we are going to be back here with whomever the next coach is too.

History is repeating itself, Its eerily similar to Kevvie's time in charge. As I've said before I'm not so sure the coaches are the problem.

Madge would have to be coach for 4 years, missing the finals 3 times for it to be remotely similar to Kevvie's time in charge (granted Madge isn't coming from as far back as Kevvie) ... And even in that situation, Madge still comes out in front because he has that ring that Kevvie never got (as a coach)

It's long been said our club has a major attitude problem.

One of the reasons why some other clubs absolutely hate us and there's definitely an element of truth to it.

Club's players lived on past glories for a good almost couple of decades.

We finally get some steel put into our players, giving them a taste of what's required to win the comp and immediately after winning, we're back at "our shit doesn't stink".

The club also lacks the ruthless intent needed to really shape what we want to be as a club. I can't see Melbourne or Panthers letting these grandad's army players keep rolling on past their used by dates. Heck, just look at who the Panthers have let go of and are telling to go to market this year (Leota for e.g.)

The real shame is this year was the year to really cement the club as being "back". Draw players to the club, getting paid maybe slight unders to join a successful club. But now - premiership window looks dead and buried - we've lost any chance of that.
