Standing up against racism not just on your behalf but for the entire Rugby League community does.
Especially in the face of public ridicule from ignorant individuals who can't see from outside of their own purview.
Making a passionate stand against racism is always appropriate and using this incident to condemn that is a false equivalence and extremely petty behaviour.
Spencer Leniu was handed an eight match sentence and pundits who thought it was acceptable behaviour were proven otherwise. This allows the NRL to market itself as an inclusive product which is important in a multi-cultural country like ours.
That one good deed has nothing to do with this...
Ezra and the team did that and all that resulted was a penalty to the Roosters. By making a formal complaint we found out exactly why the players were upset and it exposed the Roosters as massive hypocrites.
It also clearly needed to be called out as some thought it was 'fair game'. It's not...
The only reason I had those articles on hand is because I remember there were discussions around Ikin's role and what he actually achieved at the club. I remember there being conjecture around Capewell, even though it doesn't contradict your timeline.
Still, on the face of it, I don't think...
Is there a particular reason you're bringing up the media?
I could see a player-manager using their client's representative experience to drive up their value. I also believe clubs are desperate enough to take big risks.
Unless I've missed something, I don't think anyone is calling Willison a dud for failing to make the team or calling the selectors morons (@Mustafur may have thought it though) just that it's one less thing the manager can use to drive up his price during a contract year.
Willison for mine was...

I would have been all over that 2000s replica jersey when I was younger. I didn't know if anyone on here would be interested but thought it'd be worth...
I don't necessarily think signing another prop forward is a bad idea. The Gold Coast have always struggled with the physical side of the game so bringing in an experienced rugged option would surely bolster them and allow them to play Des' style of game.
I just don't think Reagan...
It was a war of attrition and in the end, Penrith proved they're without a doubt the most dominant force the game has ever seen. Even against the former juggernauts in Bellamy's Melbourne, they were a clear level above despite a gallant effort from the Storm.
For the Panthers, it was largely...
They're not push-overs, but you'd think the team that has played this fixture four consecutive times would be the presumed favourites.
It's not like Melbourne have an immaculate history of GF performances either.
Still, I'd imagine the bookies are spooked by Cleary's shoulder.
Nice to see the officials apply the rules for once, even in the GF.
It's never play on when a player loses their balance at the play the ball.
Huge effort by Norths and what a way to begin their affiliation with the Dolphins! Did it without their best player as well in Gerome Burns - amazing...
You know me too well - I was browsing through these last night. Naturally had to check out 1992/93 but also went right back to '78 and their report on the Redcliffe/Valleys Prelim. Tosser Turner was convinced Valleys would go the entire way, especially after the exploits of a young 18 year old...
