An expansion side have no business chasing down a 26 point lead. They also have no business being settled in the top 8 after a third of the season. Give credit where credit is due.
Ever since that dark day in 1999 when Melbourne smacked the Broncos 48-6 at Lang Park, I have had an intense hatred for them. This was at a time when lopsided scorelines at the Bronco's expense were totally unheard of.
They have basically dominated the Broncos since their inception and have...
The injury toll is the key. Currently an empty sick bay which is a total rarity in this sport. Logic says that the injuries will eventually come like it does for all sides. A couple of key setbacks and the fortunes of this season could turn.
But if the unlikely happens and the injury toll...
7-1 after a third of the season. Make no mistake. This team is going all the way and they will do it with relative ease. Won't lose another game this year or next year.
That isn't the issue though. He can earn a shitload more money and not work as hard to do it. Not to mention the international scene which is non existent in RL.
Obviously I am hoping he sticks around but wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't. I still haven't gotten over the defections...
CM reporting that Haas is being heavily courted by Rugby Australia. They are ready to make him an offer that would blow away anything that he'd earn in the NRL.
Yeah, I know. I made that statement at HT. I still think that they have the bones of a decent team there. They will beat a lot of sides but won't touch the elite ones. Top 8 is still a good possibility though.
Depth is an issue at most clubs. They've handled it pretty well thus far. WB just has a way of squeezing out the best in any player. Isaako has been reborn this year. He looks dangerous with every touch.
It probably would've been pretty sore when he woke up this morning. But he didn't seem to be favouring it at all during the game. He'll be alright. He is one tough hombre.
76m in 6 carries last night (24 min). Add 15 tackles without a miss as well. He hasn’t missed a tackle in 3 weeks. You are being a bit tough on him. He may not have X factor impact off the bench but he does a damn good job. Kevvie won't be dropping him anytime soon.
The L was going to come sooner or later but I am ecstatic that we are 5-1 after a quarter of the season.
Canberra were terrific and totally monstered our pack. A very gutsy effort on their part considering they were missing their two best players.
Plenty of work to be done but we all knew...
