POST MORTEM. Cowboys Broncs Grand Final.

JT has in my mind been the best player in the game since approx. 2005 and long before this season, I was calling him the best I have seen since the King. It's unfortunate that Johns was inducted prematurely (primarily based on the Sydney media's infatuation) as I would argue a host of players I...

Who will be our Captain in 2016?

Wayne will no doubt select the captain based on what occurs off the field now and during the pre-season. BHunt certainly has an opportunity now to respond well and demonstrate his leadership abilities. A couple more options that don't seem as commonly discussed are: Alex Glenn - Seems a very...

Ben Hunt's future is uncertain now

A week off has no bearing on the energy exerted throughout the match though and therefore helps but doesn't guarantee you'll be fresher. Hindsight is wonderful and if we complete our last set and jag the win, all and sundry would be singing the praises of BHunt in terms of his maturity and...

Ben Hunt's future is uncertain now

I'm a little bemused at all the talk about our 'negative' tactics during the match. Unless you are out there and have a feel for the speed of the game and how knackered the rest of the team is, then it is deadset misguided armchair critic stuff to suggest it is poor tactics. For all anyone...

    The Wayne Bennett Super thread!

Yeah don't get me wrong, this is essentially what I was suggesting. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a strength of his game.....but I think he holds his own and it's no longer to the detriment of the team. A lot of halves (including Thurston) didn't enter the game with a naturally brilliant...

    The Wayne Bennett Super thread!

Firstly, Boyd has been fantastic for us - both in attack and defence. For some reason people seem infatuated with flashy fullbacks who can pull off a freak play but I'll take a safe & solid bloke at the back to start our sets on the front foot and essentially dictate our structure. Secondly...

    Justin Hodges Cleared to Play

Re: Justin Hodges on report Firstly, kudos to Guerra for being honest and admitting to taking a dive. Secondly, how the **** does picking up a leg constitute a dangerous throw? Yes it's a penalty but it's hardly a lift that puts the player in a position where his head/neck is likely to hit...

PRE-GAME Prelim Final - Broncos vs. Roosters

I'm really confident but I can't quite work out if it is genuine or based on bias. I don't want to bring it up but I could almost cop losing to an arsey play, as opposed to a Ashton Sims like debacle on the hooter.....

    The Wayne Bennett Super thread!

In fairness to Bellamy, his hand has been forced and essentially he has had to also play out his own agenda in the press. If he doesn't get on the front foot, how do you think the next couple of Melbourne games will be refereed.......particularly if they end up playing the Roosters in the GF...

    Ben Hunt - Appreciation Thread

I think you are significantly discounting Smiths influence in attack. In my mind it is an aspect of his game that is as equally important as his defence. Jake Friend and Mick Ennis are in the same department IMO and Damian Cook is probably more attack orientated if anything, All that aside, I...

    Broncos read mean tweets

Hopefully for Lachy's sake it wasn't Moses or Starc or he could well be proven wrong..... Even Pearcey's jagged one before!

POST GAME Qualifying Final - Broncos vs Cowboys

Yep here's hoping! Also hoping they belt the living shit out of each other this week with a nice mix of injuries and suspensions for the eventual winner......

POST GAME Qualifying Final - Broncos vs Cowboys

I don't think it's an intentional tactic and I don't think we necessarily allow easy metres.....it's merely a result of not having a big dominating forward pack. Thankfully, our strength is that we are a fairly mobile pack, hence why our goal line scramble is better than most (if not all)...

POST GAME Qualifying Final - Broncos vs Cowboys

+1 for the Adam Blair Fan Club. Yes he's playing brilliantly in both defence and attack (usually as first receiver).......but I went last week to watch the lads train for the first time and one thing which really stood out for me on the day was how much of an influence Blair has on the team...

    PRE-GAME Round 25 - Rabbitohs vs Broncos

Very happy to see Reed back in the team. I'm far from a Copley basher but he's been hampered with injuries this year and at this stage of the season is merely there for cover. Reed's defense has always been outstanding but that left edge attack involving Milf, Glenn and Reed has really been...

    PRE-GAME Round 25 - Rabbitohs vs Broncos

Loves it though. Probably seize up if you gave him the week off.

    PRE-GAME Round 25 - Rabbitohs vs Broncos

Watching Bennett's press conference, it did seem that there was a fairly significant dose of media sh1t-stirring when it came to his response regarding the resting of players. I suspect he won't be resting players unless they are genuinely suffering from injuries that go a bit beyond niggling.
