There have been some truly sad falls from grace in this last decade, but this one is the worst.
Hayne had the world at his feet and has flushed it down the toilet.
I wouldn't knock Haas. To me we are seeing the dawn of our greatest front rower (the blokes an absolute machine) if he keeps his head down.
Tevita is a different type of player though. He can offload with 5 players on him, throw cut out passes to wingers and bamboozle defences. He coasted...
He was also very good for us for 3 years, ordinary for two, and good enough in his last (plus the previous stint)
Reed, Thaiday and Boyd all had outstanding careers but are often thought of far less than they deserve because they played too long. In reeds case, he finished halfway through a...
He's looking after himself and that's fair enough. I don't hold grudge for chasing what's best for him (although in this case it's arguable if it is) but I do wonder why he (and digits for that matter) can't be straight and call it what it is. His agent denigrating the club might be feed for...
I know one thing. As soon as he is about to sign we have a discussion about how to get him to be the "best player" he can be.
Make a condition of some of that money there are no off field incidents and have him mentored by someone like Hodges, Renouf or the like in the way Civo is with Tevita...
I was
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Size wise he wouldnt be different to a few 5/8 of the 80s and 90s. Those big bodies that were hard to tackle on the run. I reckon he would have been pretty successful back then.
I think fatty said he was the biggest halfback he has ever seen and I'm...
To my mind isaako is a centre in the making. His chief deficiency is his passing but this stint at fullback seems to be helping it improve. There are obvious questions on his defence (like literally every other 3/4 we have) but the understanding you get playing fullback might help there too...
He was brilliant in patches and that is the point. There are things he can do no other player in the squad, let alone the team can do and he is "ok" most of the time.
Both he and Tevita have the same problem. They tend to want to avoid the boring, ordinary jobs that players like gamble do to...
Fiffita is a good player. He is just not 1.25 million good. No one is.
I can understand the reasoning on the decision from a marketing point of view but football wise it is dum.
There's a good player in Ricki, it's just that it is hidden by a fair bit of inexperience.
I agree with people saying he needs to go back th ISC. Its not to punish him but to allow him to learn and make mistakes whilst doing so.
Look at gamble. He knows what works and he knows how to fight...
I think what he is getting at is if you expect a fullback to defend in the line, someone else has to cover the kick. He can't be in two spots at once and those were early tackles.
You might like your fullback permanently coasting in the in goal but the modern game and the coaches that run...
