Yeah me too. Seemed to have a lot of time with the ball in hand. Although his attempted tackle on Uate in the first half was terrible. All he did was take a slap at the ball. Uate is a human wrecking ball but in the NRL you have to put your body on the line in that situation.
Ugly match and the Broncos side of last year (a Broncos side plus Locky) would have had 5 or 6 tries by halftime.
Nonetheless though, as Big Peter said, I'm pretty happy with where we are after three games. Two scrappy wins built on defence and a match that we should have wrapped up in the...
3. Hannant
2. Gillett - great to see him running into holes again! As opposed to the whole catch the ball before the line and do a dance thing.
1. Hodges
It has to be Cronk, has runs on the board over many seasons at club and Origin level. Plus the Melbourne combination with Smith and Slater - it's a no brainer really.
Barba, Sandow and Prince should never be on the bench in Origin. The only reason the selection of Berrigan/Cronk in that...
Yeah, there's no way they'll drop Gillett. I'd be more than happy to drop Te'o although, in his defence, being a decent hole runner out wide he does offer a little more attack-wise than Anderson. We might also need a little more mobility in what'll be a faster game against the Cows.
I'm just...
It was a really good finish to the match, they seemed very frantic at the beginning but once they settled into their flow and realised they didn't have to attack at a million miles an hour things looked a lot better.
Hannant had an immense game, surprisingly impressed with Hunt off the bench...
Such depth in the Warriors squad when you consider Lillyman, Luck and the Rapira brothers weren't even considered due to injury. If they're mentally switched on this year, they're going to be tough to beat.
Yeah, I'm honestly not sure how to rate them ahead of this season. There's been hype around the team for the past few years, I'm just hopeful that their footy will do the talking once the competition starts. Hard to get a gauge during trials too, big squads with unlimited interchange.
There...
Few fringe Broncos guys playing for Wynnum in a trial against Easts this afternoon at Langlands Park. Nat Barnes, Dan Wallace, Andrew Clayton and Troyden Watene (not sure if the last two are back on the Broncos books or not..)
Queensland Cup trial kicks off at 5pm.
/shamelessplug :P
I've never really warmed to Te'o, always seem to see too many lazy plays from him on the field. Wouldn't lose any sleep at all, especially considering we have a great batch of backrowers.
Re: Round 1, Parra v Broncos
I also dig it. Although, the yellow in the picture looks a little too florescent for me. Hopefully it's a touch more golden in real life.
