Why they won’t tell him to get fit or have time off... Don’t seem to be telling him to play the f***ing ball rather than whinge after each tackle. Don’t tell him to how to talk to a ref or inspire the troops...
Aside from being a protected species the issue is a lack of ability to adapt. If...
Interesting thought. And would be a young rotation. If that’s the worry still don’t need Thaiday once in there are fit. Macca, Glenn (start him if required and play Sua from 30 mins), Gillo should be all able to step in as senior forwards and we supposedly have an amazing captain too... at...
Agree love to see a towelling to sort out points differential which may be crucial come spring but last thing these guys need is overconfidence.
Let’s just beat a team we are favoured to and tidy up a numerous gaps and wrinkles that were masked by individual brilliance. Namely the middle...
IMHO
1. Boyd. 3. Tried in first run and then forgot how. 42m compared to 190 disgraceful. Good tackle and looked a little better on sweep but positioning is leaking 6-12 points a game.
2. Oates. 7 Machine. Has to be picked for origin. Keep working the hands still makes me nervous
3. Opa...
For me when they come back.
8. Lodge
9. Macca
10. Offa
11. Sua
12. Gillo
13. TPJ
14. KNik/Bird (hooker/lock late in game and back cover)
15. McGuire (he can play 60 straight when comes on)
16. Glenn
17. Haas/other young bloke
18. Thaiday if someone gets injured/origin.
I think need Offa to...
I agree re hamstring. That’s why they have this thing called rehabilitation. Do some of that and if you can get 100% then he can earn his spot back after he proves it in QCup. I know there is a lot of senior players missing but can’t play bad hammys at fullback. He costs 1-2 tries a game lately.
Add in a badly underperforming and uninspirational captain with back foot on kick returns (although did first one ok tonight), carrying dead weight and over-reliance on brilliance than tactics and good structure and sums it up perfectly.
Staggs was good but is still green and will need time...
When you have a weapon like that at the back of the opposition how about don’t kick it to them? I know hard with good back there but kick it out or bomb it so high defence is on them by time they get it or kick to a corner and focus a hard chase there... again hard when don’t have the kickers...
Of course coach is following the cap tightly. Especially one like Bennett which would have massive sway. Not the Roosters where an international is worth $1.50 and a frozen chicken.
For me if fatigue and age effects wearing in why does Cam Smith have to play 80 in origin or in club land. Origin wise we get a supersub who can play hooker I.e Hunt. Club wise they have Brandon Smith. Smart play was always going to be manage his longevity and the transition to new options...
Hunt can chop a player too. But Macca as a Bronc unfortunately doesn’t wrestle or control the ruck like Smith does. While good defence is a necessary condition for a hooker if we are picking our hooker primarily on defence then big problem. Almost as bad as picking a defensive halfback like...
Couldn’t agree with defensive argument. Defending at hooker is completely different to half. Put Macca at half and see his efficiency drop. At half easier to be isolated or out of position trying to cover 2 runners. Hunt isn’t the ideal solution (although think if he was a full time hooker...
Bellamy saying Boyd for captain. You know he is a blue. Would be my choice too if from NSW.
Leadership vacuum galore here. Scott seems only choice for me. Morgan as VC even off bench that’s a non issue these days. Inglis as other option. Short term thinking but that’s a problem for next...
