We simply can't afford to pay Oates big money to be a back rower when we already have Gillett and Glenn for at least another couple of years and have Fifita and Su'A coming through. We also don't have great depth in the outside backs and he is our best winger.

Maybe give him some games later in the season. Hope he can displace Sims sooner rather than later.

I do agree on your general premise but anyone can be beaten and they have a rookie halfback. We have no clue how he will go over a full season and finals.
