I watched the replay and I can see what Jermaine Isaako was trying to do. He was hoping the ball would go dead so the Broncos could get a 7th tackle restart from the 20 metre line with no time left on the clock. And so when the Broncos would get the restart the ref would tell the Broncos its too...
Fair point. I have watched some of their earlier games and he is playing better then last year as a roaming lock who can make the pass to put someone in a gap. Its doesn't mean though I think he is playing brilliant. I didn't watch the game against Penrith but I know some Titans fans were...
Tyrone Peachey has been playing well this year because he's starting not because he is coming off the bench. The Titans have finally worked out that a utility off the bench is not where he is best used at. Peachey despite his improved play admits that his future at the Titans is uncertain. The...
Actually speaking of Chris Sandow he has been reported in the Dailey Telegraph that he wants to make a comeback at the age of 32. He also said he would accept a contract of $150, 000 to do it. Reading between the lines though Sandow admits he is not in great shape. He said looking after four...
Tanah Boyd is under contract at the Titans next year.
Tanah Boyd could keep $1 million man Ash Taylor out of the Titans halves, legendary playmaker Darren Lockyer says, with Taylor now fighting for his NRL career.
Boyd, on a fraction of Taylor's salary, filled Gold Coast's five-eighth...
I don't even think Anthony Milford on a vastly reduce wage is in the hierarchy's thinking. I would more likely think the view is he hasn't performed and doesn't deserve a contract extension and will be shown the door. There has too much money paid and too many chances given to be thinking of...
What are you referring to his flying knees or his off field trouble? Suliasi Vunivalu did score alot of trys in his time with the Storm but alot of them were gimmes from the halves rather then Vunivalu being completely amazing. He can finish though, and Broncos seem to head to the wing for alot...
Don't know where he's going but it's been reported the Titans are looking past him.
The Titans see Milford as an option to replace Ash Taylor — another player that’s struggled under the pressure of a lucrative contract.
According to Seven, Taylor is willing to take a pay-cut to remain at the...
Wayne Bennett probably should have gotten better production out of the late Peter Jackson. Whether it was injury or form, I'm not sure, but his tenure wasn't very successful when he played for us. I say this as someone who thinks highly of Jackson as a player.
He has to show more though, and he hasn't done enough so far. I don't like signings based on loose hypotheticals about who will be signed next year. Milford needs to take accountability of his own performance rather then looking for a convenient excuse "If only I played outside Reynolds"...
Milford hasn't performed for so many years though on top dollar. If he was in the real world in the workforce he wouldn't be getting an extension from his employer based on his performance.
Yeah fair enough. I tend to agree with that. I know Gus Gould suggested million dollar players should produce a 60% - 70% win rate. I'm not convinced that Kalyn Ponga is even in that realms. Whether the Knights have injuries or not you never saw those excuses with Cameron Smith at the Storm...
I was giving an example using the figure the poster provided. The poster suggested Ash Taylor on $400k or 500k. And suggested if Ponga was to come here it shouldn't be for big money. The fact is we don't have leverage to be offering Ponga a moderate figure or a lowball figure. Ponga is...
Spot on. In fact Kalyn Ponga is on massive money right now at the Knights. If we came to his manager and said 'ummmm he can come here on $500,000 a year on a two year deal with a third year option in our favor'. We would be laughed out of the room.
The only one of those names that you...
That's the biggest risk in my opinion signing Josh Hodgson he has done two ACL's. I think its even more of a risk then the potential downside with the view he overplays his hand and stifles the attack.
If Hodgson came here it better not be for top dollar. The days of Jack Bird's contract...
I see it was thrown on up on Nine's QLDER show on YouTube the idea of Anthony Milford going to the Titans pairing up with Jamal Fogarty. Wally Lewis seemed more in favor of keeping the Ash Taylor and Fogarty pairing together but he concedes that Taylor is running out of time. He added he thought...
Last I read the Titans were more interested in signing England's Daryl Clark. I tend to think there is a better chance of Clark going to the Titans then Josh Hodgson going to the Broncos. Which would then make Jake Turpin expendable. Gus Gould dismissed the idea of Hodgson going to the Broncos...
Its been confirmed on the NRL website that he has been resigned. Yay!
https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/05/05/staggs-re-signs-with-broncos-until-end-of-2025/
I'm not sure why after what the Broncos went through with Jack Bird. Hodgson seems quite fragile to me and has had extended periods on the sidelines due to injury.
