I agree. He is unfit at the vest of times let alone when not getting a game. At his peak fitness he is great but rarely hits it until late in the season. Not sure if he is lazy injury prone or both. I would have picked both Kuols. Not sure we have much upfront to score goals and Alou at least...
I am not sure Herbie wants to be a fullback as much as he and his manager want to seek a contract on fullback money. Seems like every outside back wants to be a fullback when negotiating their next contract.
I think this is an intentional strategy to remove a negotiated option of him seeing out the contract.Trying to convice NRL or anyone else that it is untenable and that a return to the club isnt going work for either party.
If it is shown that we havent done anything wrong (which is atm still not confirmed by the NRL) then he honours the contract or we release him on terms that for the duration he won't be released to the Dolphins. Just like the Warriors did with Walsh
In your opinion, which I agree you are entitled to have about the issue. I am just not sure calling him a moron is fair but it is a forum and I guess that is what people like to do here. I will say this, if you ever dealt with him I doubt you would hold the same view.
Love the Tax chat but back to Kevvie... I think he has done a great job on the team culture and Ikin and Donaghy a great job overall too. This was the biggest problem, which I think they have addressed well and results have also improved. The missing pieces for me are on the field.
For as long...
From what I have seen I think the Oates and Staggs ones are less excusable. I would like to see the types of errors and when they occur to get the full context.
Why offload him if he is signed next year. Id only release him if there is a salary cap benefit or if dolphin's pay a transfer fee. Especially if TMM goes, he would be good back up at the very least
I think he is not there yet but could become that. If this was the 90s he would not have debuted yet. His game is certainly improving and he could become a good fullback in mould of Rhys Wesser. I think a year or two in England would be good for Niu. He is still very young.
So we sign him long term on big money for an 18 year old on the back of a shoulder recon. He accepts a deal that overpays him for his stage if career.
He goes through multiple disciplinary incidents and the club supports him.
He outperforms his peers and his performance means that he is...
I can't understand why we upgraded his contract without an extension last time. He got given money he wasn't entitled to and now wants more. Let alone the off field stuff.
Lets let him negotiate with clubs and give him his release but not before a 500K transfer fee is paid, as he has two...
I would at least make him play out this year. Ask for a $500K transfer fee from the club that wants to buy him and line up a spine replacement before releasing him.
I thought Niu was good just before his recent injury. I thought he had developed his cleaning up of kicks and also showed signs of backing up well to add to his running game. We just debuted him before he should have been given a debut. I think long term he will be a good player.
Unfortunately...
Sure. All I am saying is that reducing a salary offer based on off field behaviour only works when there is not a club willing to pay the on field market rate.
