Looking forward to seeing Dean Hawkins get a crack for South Sydney. I think he could be someone to keep an eye on as a possible second choice halfback option for us. He is a little bit like Adam Reynolds in how he plays. His kicking game and game management is probably his strongest assets...
Agreed, though I'm more concerned with the other areas of his game. Handling can be improved, but he seems below average in everything else as well. Kind of hard to see why he was signed..
Tapau sadly does not offer anything anymore. He doesn't provide go forward, aggression, intimidation, or leadership. He is becoming a liability with his poor defence and Ill discipline.
As for Baker, he was poor again, but I suppose I am willing to give him another chance given that he was...
Oates probably needs to be on the bench. This likely won't be the first time we lose a backline player, and Oates is maybe the only player left in in our squad that provides the option to play in the backline or the forward pack. He offers a bit more options and versatility when we get forced...
I think the NRL should consider allowing the 18th man to be activated if a player shows Category 1 symptoms and fails the HIA, even if the head injury was not caused by foul play.
Head injuries just seem more and more common, and probably more likely than any other injury. Losing a player to a...
I think that will naturally happen, and it will largely be player led. With maturity and experience, we will become more clinical on both sides of the ball for the full 80 minutes. This team is full of kids who are still a few years away from really being established nrl players. We have a scary...
I don't mind it occasionally as a surprise tactic, but there is a time and place for it. The first time we did it, I probably wouldn't have gone short, but I was ok with it because the execution of the kick was good and the score was nil all. What happened after that was the stupid part...
We need to shelf the short drop outs. I'm not a fan. Every time we do it, I have my heart in my mouth. Just make them work it back from 50m out. Our defence is good enough. We don't need to go for a cheap option.
Also, if we are jumping for a short drop out, just catch it instead of batting it...
As disappointed I am right now, I am also very proud of the team. It was a gutsy performance, but we were extremely poor for large portions of the game. We just kept inviting them back in with poor decisions and silly errors. We were our own worst enemy. The Panthers should consider themselves...
I just feel that Cobbo has the ability to make a break out of nowhere, and someone quicker off the mark than Oates, such as Arthurs, would be able to push up in support quicker than Oates could.
If Cobbo is to shift to left centre, I feel like Arthurs would be a good player to have on his outside. Perhaps Oates can play on the right hand side. I wouldn't mind a pairing of Arthurs and Cobbo on the left, and then Staggs and Oates/Mariner on the right.
I wonder where Edwards sits on the pecking order for Mal? They better not go for the Panthers combination of Cleary and Edwards. I guess it will depend on the outcome of the grand final. If Walsh plays well, he should hopefully be next in line.
It's amazing what a little bit of confidence can do for some players. I think he would have had to accept that it's either play wing or go and play reserve grade. No more wanting to play fullback.
Yeah that's correct. I think Ruan Sims voted on a game she didn't even watch. Probably awarded the Dally M points based on who scored the highest Supercoach points that game.
