All I can see this doing, is increasing the grubby stuff in tackles even more so than before. So while it might help stop the stand up fights, it is just going to make more teams find wrestling chokes, chin straps etc to try and get a player binned to get the one man advantage.

I am pretty sure there is something in the rules about playing at the ball with your head on purpose isn't allowed but accidental contact is ok. So I assume if players start trying to head the ball like soccer players we will see knock on or even penalties called.

I thought he was short and then lost the ball but no camera angle proved it so had to be kept a try. Even though I hate Manly I thought they were a bit hard done by with that penalty and then the extra 10 metres. It was still a tough kick to finish it.
