for us, it would be a waste of a spot IMO.
if we lose an outside back, either Jetski or Riki can do a job for us. with the exception of Staggs, all of our backs are capable of switching between wing and centre. Cobbo and Arthars can handle fullback in a pinch if we lose Walsh as well.
beside...
Warriors are in for a long season.
I've been saying it since RTS returned. he needs to be playing fullback, I don't understand why the Warriors coaching staff can't see it
the ICC have cleared Matthew Kuhnemann's bowling action
Cricket Australia Statement
“We are pleased for Matt that this matter is now resolved. It has been a challenging period for Matt however he has carried himself exceptionally well,” CA Executive General Manager National Teams Ben Oliver...
IMO, it doesn't change anything at all. Even if Piakura starts, we'd carry a backrower on the bench (probably Jetski) ... We saw first hand last year that middles playing on the edge when a backrower goes down, doesn't work well
That couldn't be further from the truth.
If you watch him play you'd realise that he never shirks his responsibility. He goes looking for work and frequently takes the tough carries.
Madge has also been nothing but praise about Cobbo's attitude and fitness this preseason
As i said, I think he'll be made to earn it through the QLD cup ... of course if we're playing poorly or in the middle of an injury crisis, then all bets are off.
but there is also no denying that Hunt is better than every other hooker on our books ... maybe even better than all other hookers...
I think he'll be made to earn his way back through QLD cup.
But to answer your question, it would be because we would significantly improve the hooker position, while bringing in a class player to replace him at 6. our spine would simply be much better overall.
That's what the media / commentators said.
Also FYI,
Elsewhere in the squad, Jock Madden has picked up a low-grade hamstring injury and won’t be available for selection in Round 1.
Not really... At least as far as we're concerned.
We won't be chasing him ... Especially after how he acted last time and how he publicly stated he would never play for us again as long as he lived.
Chicken sandwich has burnt his bridges at this club
Chicken sandwich has been released from the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs say it was "mutual"
The reports say that he has been cleared to play again and has found a new "yet-to-be-confirmed club, which isn’t the Dolphins."
