Ratchet deals aren't necessarily a bad thing ... And they're possibly only going to get added if you can convince your franchise players (like Walsh, Hass and Patty) to sign long term deals past the new TV rights deal.
Let's take Walsh for example ... He's new deal is $1.1 million per season...
Hunt probably would have been my 3rd choice to take the available bench position.
I would have gone with either Marty or Te Kura ... Marty if you want to add some more aggression and impact to the bench ... Te Kura to give him some NRL reps.
But Madge's decisions have been proven spot on so...
He was also arguing that the fine given to Papalli for touching the ref (patted him in the stomach) was sufficient ... That despite ever single other play to touch a ref has served a minimum of 1 week, even when the contact was because the ref was in the wrong position and got in the players way
I'm not sure where this narrative has come from (this isn't the only post I've seen it in)
We only ever play them once a year and have comfortably beaten the last two times we have played them ... Their last win against us was round 20, 2022
something interesting that I noticed tonight is that when we received a scrum in out attacking half, Arthars feed the scrum instead of Reyno. Reynold was set up in the backline
I have little doubt Walsh will evolve to the next level ... It just takes a bit of time and consistency. Remember Walsh is onto his 4th coach in his short career, and he is also getting used to 2 new members in the spine.
At the same age, Billy Slater was also rocks and diamonds ... And he had...
