IF Reynolds can come back before the finals, then the Broncos just need to hang on as much as they can. Try to win at minimum half the games and go all out at the end of the season.
He's definitely better than Billy was at the same age, but Slater at 21 is not the same Slater he became at 26/27, he just kept getting better and better, and became one of the best fullbacks of all time thanks to his year to year improvements. If Walsh keeps improving every year in the same way...
This has been the Oates experience for many years now. He'll have games where he drops the ball a handful of times and then have games where he jumps in the air and defuses every single contested bomb that goes his way. Just never know what you're gonna get.
I like the short line drop out, but the Broncos had success with Reynolds doing the kicking and targeting Farnworth last year. Haven't had as much success with Cobbo in the centres, and once Reynolds went off it was hard to imagine having much success at all.
I'm happy for the Broncos to keep...
Done well to keep it that close, especially with no Haas, Walsh and Reynolds missing half the game.
The Broncos signings this year have been super disappointing though, namely Baker and Hunt. Maybe Oates could develop as a back rower over the season?
