    OPINION Broncos Backrower Bench hole

Yeah he’s a weird one. He was a great junior and showed glimpses of incredible athleticism early on. Kind of just waited for it all to click but he ended up just channeling it into being a solid all rounder who only stands out in regards to kick chases (which he does beautifully for the record).

    OPINION Broncos Backrower Bench hole

I’m not too fussed about who we chuck at second row as long as it isn’t Patty. We just need a depth option. Riki is solid with the occasional poor defensive lapse and not offering much in attack, but he’s a good role player in a team of stars on a favourable contract. Pikaura is a very good...

Who's hit the wall 2024 edition

i think Tedesco has always been overrated to some extent, an incredible athlete and an attitude to work hard but over the last few years he’s become an absolute handbrake in attack. People see his godly stats but overlook the fact that he has 2 or 3 runs a set, in attacking zones that...

NEWS Slater reveals possible surprise duo for Maroons

I want Walsh to get it but being entirely objective, Ponga is the more rounded player currently. KP has a 5 year head start on RW though

    PLAYER Selwyn Cobbo

Yep, the Arthars, Jensen, Riki, even Billy and Smoothy bit part players are going to be critical. Kev and his team will need to keep nailing those value for money finds to balance the superstars. On a related note, I recently saw that Zero Tackle has Riki down as $350k per year. I’m not...

Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2024

With age, the hype around players starts to die down to a more realistic level too. I don’t think Staggs would get the same stupid offers he would’ve last time around.

Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2024

We won’t keep all of Haas, Willison and Te Kura. We’ll get a good year or 2 out of the young guys if we’re lucky. Cap can’t fit them all. New young guys will come through and fill the void and the circle of life continues.

Selwyn isn’t worth a million dollars to us

    PLAYER Xavier Willison

Although Riki and Walters did directly contribute to our downfall, I don’t think hooker is what’s holding us back from a GF victory. Both Billy and Smoothy are doing their job at a level good enough to get us there.

    PLAYER Selwyn Cobbo

Funnily, I was mentally preparing a comment in my head about how I’m losing patience with Cobbo’s errors and dumb decisions and how his odd freaky moment is starting to not make up for it, then he goes and scores 2 tries and I put the keyboard down

    PLAYER Xavier Willison

Yeah at a minimum we will lose one of Ben or X, potentially both by the second pro contract. Unless one pushes Haas out. Another headache is what to do at hooker. I hope I’ve been chill on Walters long enough to have a sensible conversation about it.Walters definitely contributes and has a...

    PLAYER Xavier Willison

I think Payne’s absence has been very noticeable. I think Patty’s unsustainable Herculean efforts has masked Payne’s absence somewhat. A top tier halfback will always be harder to replace than even the greatest of forwards.

Does anyone know what Kev record against Wayne as head coach is?

    PLAYER Xavier Willison

Willison is a gun though. A lot to love about this fella. He is big and scary but the best attribute is he reminds me of an early career Haas from a work rate perspective. He came on last night and tackles everything. I think he made 4 or 5 tackles back to back in his first defensive set. He...

VOTE BHQ Player of Round 6

Yeah he’s aiming up to be a pretty good Flegler replacement. I get the feeling there is a real aggressive streak in him that he’s holding back at the moment. As for Patty v Haas, we are just spoilt to have them both. Haas is a one of kind athlete. Patty is a footballer through and through

Carrigan was unbelievable which was to be expected. Willison though, massive game for a young fella. He’s arrived
