An eleventh hour backflip by a coach on a player leaving isn't something you see very often. Hopefully Madge's show of faith in him lifts him to another level because FMD was 2024 disappointing for Kobe.
I want him to show his leadership chops, but it can't come at the expense of Reyno. It's a delicate line to walk. Be authoritative, but also recognize when you have to stay in your lane. And don't crack the shits if Madge decides to play you in the middle. It's about the team and what it needs...
The typical talking heads are already calling for the NRL to make up the difference on his punishment. Some fuckwit on 2GB called for him to miss the whole of 2025. He'll be lucky to have a career that spans 11 to 12 years and he should lose one of them because of an off season incident...
If by some miracle someone at the club comes onto this forum and has a sticky beak every now and then, please hear my words.
You need to make it a general rule among the playing group in 2025: If any team goes out there next season with the intent to take Walsh out with grubby shit, the team...
It's a vexing situation to be in for mine. Both Cobbo and Staggs have obvious positives that you could point to and say "this makes him worth the price tag"; Cobbo with his natural talent (when he turns up) and ability to cover fullback as well as centre and wing, and Staggs with his work ethic...
At this point I would not be surprised to hear both Cobbo and Staggs are on the outer. Maybe Madge just doesn't rate them relative to the other options we have at centre.
Athars, Mariner, Anderson, Hoeter, Karapani.....All of them could do a job in the centres and not cost half as much.
