    Ashes Discussion

Absolutely agree with your comments on Cummins. Fantastic player, probably my favourite of the current test team. But being an automatic selection and a nice guy with a squeaky clean image do not make a test captain. You're the one calling all the shots. It's a far more tactical role than any...

Australia vs India - Test Series

This was my understanding of the rules, I must have missed the change. I was very surprised to see a substitute fielder keeping wicket. I think a replacement under the concussion rule should be allowed to keep (like for like or whatever they say), but if your keeper needs to temporarily sub...

NEWS Corey Oates cleared of compound fracture

A compound fracture does not necessarily mean the bone is penetrating the skin, but that there is a connection between a break and the outside world, introducing the risk of infection. Just because there wasn't half a bone hanging out of his leg when he was seen by a medico on the field or...

POST GAME Round 6 - Knights vs Broncos

Souths Logan Magpies could have lost 59-0 to the Roosters, and might looked like they were trying while they did.

    NRL Season Recommencing

Correct. There are literally thousands of viruses that cause a similar type of illness; cough/cold/sneezing/muscle aches. The flu jab protects against usually 3-4 of them. From what I understand, clever people analyse data from the Northern Hemisphere's flu season and try to predict which 4...

    NRL Season Recommencing

Paying off a $1.4 million dollar house could probably be regarded as an acceptable use of that kind of money. If you suddenly take a massive cut, no matter how responsible you've been with your cash, you can end up in trouble. People plan their finances around their expected income. Bigger...

NEWS Lodge to Tallis: come here and say that

"I told him to keep his nose clean and play good footy..." That's all Lodge has done since coming back into the league. I don't think Gordie can fault him on that.

First Test Australia v Pakistan in Brisbane

Our current pace trio will be remembered as an all time great line up by the time they're done I reckon.

    Queensland Cricket 2019/2020

6500 test runs at 45 average with 21 hundreds should count for something in my books. Had a rubbish series in England for sure, but plenty of good players have. I think his career to date earns him a start in the test side this summer.

    Name your top 5 Broncos

My memory only goes back to about 05, so given that: Lockyer Webcke Hodges K. Hunt. TPJ (in as a favourite, not as an all time best player - but I love what he brings when he's going well) Parker and Gillett just out.

Dare to Dream: Just what if we beat the Eels.....and made it to the GF

Eels are beatable, Raiders are beatable. I can definitely see a path to the semis if Melbourne beat Raiders, which I'd tip them to do. But even best case scenario, that's probably where it ends. Hard to imagine we'd be competitive against a a top 4 side coming off a week off.

McHunt Report: Rounds 24 & 25. Our final taxi.

I thought they changed it after all the carry on last year so those small suburban grounds could host a first round final?

Round 20 - Broncos vs Storm

    Well done Milf.

    Round 16 Discussion

I agree that one was a second effort. However, the amount of voluntary tackles we see from fullbacks in that situation, I don't mind the kick chasers getting a bit of slack there.

NEWS Andrew McCullough’s complicated contract a headache for Broncos

Is this whole thing of "an option in the player's favour" for real? Because I just don't understand why any club would do it. It's literally impossible for the club to get a good deal, so why would they offer it? It's a commitment to pay overs for a player going badly at the end of his...

CRICKET General Cricket Discussion - 2023/24

What are people's thoughts on the recent Mankad incident in the IPL? I'm pretty old fashioned when it comes to cricket; and I do believe the "spirit of the game" should dictate player conduct to a degree. However; in a Mankad, I'm also of the opinion that the batsman was not playing in the...

    Should Accused Players be Suspended?

Not sure how many players it would have affected over the last decade. I would think (and hope) not very many at all. But there's one now, which is why this discussion has to happen. Standing down a player charged with a criminal offense of sufficient severity to carry a 10 year sentence...

    Aus Open

Cheering for Rafa, but I think Djokovic is the better hard court player at his best, and I'm sure he'll be bringing his best tonight. Mainly, I want to see a close 5 setter. Crazy to think both of these guys might be able to gun down Federer's major count by the time all's said and done...

    Australia v Sri Lanka

Disappointed Renshaw failed again. He's definitely got the temperament to be a very good test match player for Australia, but he's desperately out of form at the moment. Right when there's a spot for him to make his own at the top of the order.

    Australia vs India Discussion

It was before my clear cricket memories, but they were talking about that match on Channel 7 today. Tendulkar made 241no, and Brett Lee took 4/201 or something stupid. Apparently he was really keen not to take the 5th wicket and go up on the honour board with a double century next to his name.
