There is a plethora of talent leaving our game. Are the limits of the salary cap forcing this in most cases? Many of them are at the end of their careers but losing T'eo, Burgess, SBW is a huge hit and players like Locke, Sio and Inu really couldve made a contribution to other NRL clubs.

John Morris would have to be the most anonymous 300 gamer ever. I can never remember him competing for any rep jumper and he never played in a grand final but was a member of Newcastle's premiership side of 2001.

Locke, Cuthbo, Sio and Teo are the big losses for mine. The rest are towards the end of their careers or too shit. I don't think anything could have made SBW and Burgess stay.

True that, I didn't even know who he was up until a couple of years ago.. He is just that guy who plays NRL at an average level, never any more, never any less.

Luke Bailey has announced that he'll retire at the end of the season.

Always had a lot of time for Bull Bailey. Thought he was one of the more likeable personalities in Rugby League and on his day, one of the best front row forwards in the game.

An absolute beast of a front rower, in his prime he was unstoppable. Can still remember his performance in the 2003 Origin series, his performances in Game 1 and 2 were one of the best I've seen from a front rower at that level.

His goose steps in the past couple of seasons were awesome

I rate Locke as a player and am a bit confused as to why a team like the Dogs, Raiders, Dragons, or Titans wouldnt offer him a deal. Must be a rill deck off of the petch.

Brent Tate has just announced his retirement.

Farewell and congrats to a true warrior of the game. How he managed to play this long is incredible.

Such a shame, but it was just a matter of time.

I was expecting it to be sooner, but the guy just found a way to keep coming back.

It's been a real pleasure watching him play. He was always one of my favorites.

A great shame but inevitable re: Tate.

Have a lot of love for him.

The boy had some serious wheels back in the day, too.

Thank you Tatey, you've been a terrific example of spirit and perseverance, as well as a great warrior in every jersey you wore, especially the glorious maroon.
