I thought I would post this early since it looks like one of the trials has been confirmed.

Broncos will be playing Cowboys at Salter Oval in Bundaberg on February 6th.

Bundaberg will host the NRL Grand Final rematch in 2016 when the Brisbane Broncos take on the reigning champions, the North Queensland Cowboys for a trial game in the sugar city.

The game will held on February 6 at Salter Oval with chairman of Bundaberg Rugby League Mike Ireland saying it will be the biggest games of footy the city has ever seen.

"Back in early 1992 we had two matches here and I think we had something like 12,000 people," he said.

"With the success of the Broncos and Cowboys in 2015 we'll get 10-12,000 people here no problems at all.

"The Broncos and the Cowboys will have one match before they play in the World Cup Challenge in England.

"They'll be bringing their marquee players to Bundaberg. It's a home trial for the Broncos, each year they have a trial with the Cowboys. This year it was up at Mount Isa and in 2016 it will be here in Bundaberg."

The BRL is hoping to host three games on the day, with the possibility of a Bundaberg representative side playing the Central Queensland Capras, as well as a representative women's or Under 18's side taking to the field.

The idea was first raised two years ago when operations manager of QRL Central Division, Dave Pearce contacted Broncos CEO Paul White and head coach Wayne Bennett in the hopes of bringing a trial game to Bundaberg, to boost the city's morale after the devastating 2013 Australia Day floods.

"[They] fully endorse coming here to Bundaberg. I never dreamed it would be a Cowboys v Broncos trial at that stage, but they were the two logical teams you need to get here because there is a lot of support for both teams in this area," Dave said.

"My main focus was to put more positivity back into the general public around the Bundaberg area. I hope this has gone a long way towards that.

"As everyone knows [Bundaberg has] been through quite a horrendous couple of years.

"I hope this lifts their spirits, and a lot more positivity and confidence gets into the local economy."

Tickets are expected to go on sale sometime in November.

THE NRMA Insurance Broncos will once again traverse three countries in their preparation for the 2016 NRL campaign.

The Broncos will play trial games in England, regional Queensland and Brisbane as well as contest the Auckland Nines in New Zealand.

Tickets for the Broncos’ first trial match – a grand final replay against the North Queensland Cowboys in Bundaberg - will go on sale on November 9.

Further information regarding how to purchase tickets, pricing and seating for the February 6 match at Salter Oval will be available closer to November 9.

On the same weekend the Broncos will have a group over at the Auckland Nines, while the under-20s will face affiliate club Norths Devils at Bishop Park.

On February 13 a Broncos’ senior outfit will meet the Wynnum Seagulls at Kougari Oval, while the NYC team will head to south-west Queensland to play a local representative team in Roma.

On February 20 the Broncos will again be hosted at DB Stadium by the world-famous Wigan club of the English Super League.

Last year the Broncos edged Wigan 14-12 in the inaugural World Club Series, and the pair have drawn each other again after both finishing second in their respective competitions.

On the same day plenty of NRL-calibre Broncos will be playing at Davies Park in Brisbane, with the balance of the squad to meet the South-Logan Magpies.

The Broncos under-20s will play local rivals the Gold Coast Titans in a double header at the same venue.

Random thought, what do people think of a BHQ meet up for the trial vs Wynnum?

Not too far a drive, and a "senior" squad, good chance to make the off season less unbearable.
