Nah , I was 1st on the train .
And I was bagging Baylis too . I was saying beef Te Kura up he will be a weapon in a year or two .

He popped an off load in the trial that promised bigger and better things .
Impressed me more than Baylis or Piakura .

The fact that he played with the other train and trialers against Wynnum then also played against an NRL squad tells me the powers that be wanted to see him against stronger opposition .

He didn't just pop up in February. He came to the Broncos in 2021 from Redcliffe. He's played the Broncos v Wynnum trial the last two years.

He won Norths MM player of the year in 2021 in Year 12 and played a great game for City U17 in 21 scored a try- wouldn't you know Mozer turned him under, and he scored under the posts- they're still doing that move.

Walters asked if Reynolds will retire next year:

“No. He will be here longer than me I reckon. We have seen some great signs from him this year, particularly the last couple of weeks. He just knows how to get the boys around the park. He is enjoying himself and he is tackling well for the first time in his career. It is great he is playing against his former club. I remember way back when I changed clubs from Canberra to the Broncos. You want to win and show everyone you are the player you are.”
“We went after Adam hard because we needed his experience. His rugby league brains. He has been great for so many players at the club and the coaching staff as well. I’m not so much surprised that Souths let him go, but we went down there to get him and we got him.”

Solly:

“The uncertainty around our cap position and Adam’s understandable desire for financial security for his family, it was just a matter of timing. We were really clear at the time to Reynolds that our challenge was our salary-cap position for 2023. No-one knew what the salary cap figure was going to be for 2023 until Christmas 2022 - 18 months before we were negotiating with Adam in early 2021. Adam is playing really well and we are happy for what he has done at the Broncos. Lachlan has also established himself as a first-grader with a really bright future. Both players have done a great job.”

I'm legitimately in the camp that the move was best for all. Ilias gets a crack at first grade, and IMO he's first grade standard; Souths free up cap for other players. Adam gets a new challenge which he seems to be relishing, and we get the experience and a leader on and off the park the likes of which we've been crying out for. It's a shame he couldn't have been a one-club player, but I think it worked out well.

Reynolds got them to a gf without latrell. With or without bennett that shows his value. If they had Reynolds now I reckon there's 9 or 10 extra games they ice in the last year and a half. I get there has to be give somewhere but Reynolds was asking for less than arrow is on. The other component is the years following his retirement as well. It's obvious he can coach and teach players, and is a great influence on young players. Likely we get that now and souths miss out. That's adds to the value of the "risk"

Rothfield has confirmed Quai-Ward has gone to the Bulldogs, effective immediately. That's opened up a spot in our roster (taken by a bloke who never got a game).

Our centre/wing stocks next season are now looking considerably more modest. Expect a signing or re-signing (maybe Pereira) there.

We currently have 27 spots in our top 30 filled, with only Selwyn Cobbo currently unavailable (hip injury).

Out of our top 30, the following players have not yet played a game in 2023:

Blake Mozer
Delouise Hoeter
Jordan Pereira
Logan Bayliss

We've used 1 development player:

Tristan Sailor

And not used the following development players:

Brendan Frei
Josh Rogers
Tyson Smoothy

Anyone in the know have any idea what the future holds for Bayliss brow? He looks decent enough in all the games I've seen of him in the q cup.

I agree but who is he usurping in top grade? That is his issue. He is behind all the starters + Jensen now + Willison and Palasia. I just don't see where his shot comes from.

I would've thought he could've got a shot last week.

I wonder why he was sitting in the box with Kevvie?
Because he was 19th man and taken to Sydney... may as well have him sitting in the box with the other broncos people that travelled.

Like you've said we have no injured players... so who else would've travelled that he can sit with them in the crowd?

They usually sit on the bench.
