Just had a look, the mean business in 23! Surprised Jack Martin didn’t get a T&T deal, maybe in 24
They've lost Jake Turpin and Harrison Graham this season. Hopefully their prize recruit Billy Walters will be able to pick up the slack.

They announce a signing every few days. Have guys like GGM, Lachlan Timm, Brendan Frei etc, plus they had a decent squad already too.

They've lost Hope, Graham and Scarlett- massive holes. It takes a lot to lose your two hookers and your half/captain and have a good year.

Dobson too, interesting to see how him leaving drains their production.

Didn’t know they lost hope and Scarlett, where are they off to?

Wonder if we will replace him or stay in house, I assume Willison will be getting the game time he got, but we also lost Kennedy so there needs to be another forward to take the spot.

Hard to believe but some reports seem to suggest Palasia was on 500k for 23.

I'd say that would be $500k over the 2yrs... i.e. $250k per year

The thing was it said it was a 1 year deal.

Others are now saying it's 200k which makes way more sense, and was offered 300k at Titans.

This is what is currently reported in the Newscorp press:

"It is understood Palasia’s Titans deal is worth around $300,000 annually, a significant increase on his estimated Broncos salary of $200,000 next season."

But haven't we learnt not to take contract amounts reported in the media seriously?

Other than that, Badel jumped the gun a bit on this one. All the firm details in the story were correct, but he evidently thought the Broncos would release him for 2023. He stopped short of saying they had, leaving it up to the Titans to announce it. Which, I bet came as a surprise when they didn't.

In the end, the whole thing is a bit of a non-story. He wasn't poached. He didn't quit the club. He simply didn't extend his contract. Crisis averted.

In fairness, everything seemed like an early release based on Palasia's comments and the upgraded contract.

It'll be an ongoing thing through the year. Same as it was for Luciano and cows last year.

Whenever Palasia is sitting in reserve grade there'll be "it is understood titans haven't given up hope of securing Palasia early"

If Palasia gets his release he'll be earning himself an extra $100k as well so his manager will be pushing as well.

I don't really understand what just happened with this story. Honestly, it's got me fucked. I think the ship's left the port.

In regards to the release??

By signing him for 24 and 25 the titans have put an end date on his time at the Broncos.... so that can put questions back on them.

Is there any point keeping him for 23 if he's gone??

Could that spot be better used on someone else??

Is our depth sufficient if we let him go early??

If someone like Willison, TC, etc. hits the ground running then Palasia may drop further down the list... if that happens I can see titans coming back asking for the release again.

Unless something dire happens with our middle stocks I can see Palasia moving to titans before June 30.

Maybe we'll do the Isaako trick again and play him Rd 1 so he counts as top 30 and then carry his salary to next year.

I think he's worth keeping this year (unless he causes disruption). Willison, robati and even Te Kura appear to have far higher ceilings but they are still unknown and won't be consistent or able to deal with more than 10-15 games at nrl standard at the absolute most (robati maybe).
You keep Keenan to plug those holes and with injury he probably still plays 15-20 games. He will just be the 1st dropped if his form dips, or if any of the above even remotely show form in qld cup.
