2024 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

He’s turned down the Storm too, they offered him three years and he’s taking one.

I think he didn’t get the money he thought so is backing himself to have a good 12 months and do this again in 12 months for 2027 and prove he’s a million dollar player.

But that doesn't make sense either, because the Storm won't pay him that for a long-term deal with the young bloke coming through.

Yet it was on the table this time around and he turned it down. He's not likely to get a better deal than the one which was offered, in 12 months' time, from any club, even if he kills it this year...and the risk to him is another injury blows that opportunity completely apart for good.

It doesn't make sense no matter which way you spin it. He's taking all the risk for no real (apparent) reward, certainly not now, nor in the future.

Storm are a fine, upstanding club though, they would NEVER consider illegally offering players incentives outside the cap. Nothing to see here...

Mitchell Moses will be a free agent come November next year as well and should keep an eye on him for a possible Reynolds replacement for 2026.

I don't think he's free to leave Parra until 2027 though... he can sign elsewhere from November 1 2025 onwards, but Parra would have to release him to get him early.

Moses seems to be a bit of PITA tho, he seems to sign a long term contracts with clauses, he then agitates or rumors starts that he's looking for an out so Parra give him an update, then barely 12 months later at it again.

I expect him to go alot better at the dragons, was getting over called at souths by all accounts
Be a lot less pressure on him to
Its always hard to replace a legend at the club especially a legend the club moved on to let you take over.

The Tigers have reportedly taken a leaf out of the Eels recruitment playbook.

they have agreed to player options in Luai's 5 year deal. Luai's is effectively able to leave at any time he wants after the second year. as there is a player option each year for the final 3 years

Stupid asf imo, Thought they were already paying overs for him, he has won more then most would in their career too.

That said before they signed him no one really saw how capable he was in the 7 role which he showed big time this year, which makes it even more strange.
