2025 Pre-season discussion. The Madge dynasty begins.

There's a story I heard from some people within Souths regarding Greg Inglis and Madge. Of all the Storm coaches/assistant coaches, we all know Bellamy is referred to as 'Bellyache' due to his monumental blasts at players. Brad Arthur was considered very mild in nature with the odd minor blow-up, so he was nicknamed 'Tummyache' by Storm players.

During GI's time being coached by Madge at Souths, Inglis bestowed upon him the name 'Gutache'. Said he was worse than Bellamy in terms of intense blow-ups. Wouldn't think that would be possible, but there you go lol.

Had to happen. The purge is going to take a lot with it. It is a bold direction, it is going to set us up for success again or will completely destroy whatever is left of our once great club.

I'm personal supportive though, very happy to see us get cut throat. It is why I also won't be sad if we do cut Mam and perhaps even lose Walsh. Yes it will massively suck in the short term but I'm hoping will help us finally enter the age of professionalism. These blokes have no idea how good they have it compared to your average Joe.

Yeah if we lose Walsh because we cut Mam then he isn't really the type of player you'd want at the club anyway. I think Mam should be cut because what he is alleged to have done 100% warrants it, and because the club needs to get some control back. Treating them with kid gloves hasn't worked or been repayed by the players, and no one is staying for less with a heap of guys are about to test the market.

Test the market they might, but they shouldn’t forget the market was looking on whilst they were playing like busted arses and couldn’t give a ****. Perhaps they should wait till they get a decent preseason and a few worthwhile games on the books before they do any testing.

Don't care anyway. I'll miss seeing the little nugget running around on the field but at some point you need to move on and realistically, given his personality and the apparent current issues within the playing group, he may not be the best influence.

I daresay Alfie could probably go squat on the the freshly manicured training fields of Red Hill and take a dump in direct view of Dave Donaghy eating lunch with his wife there in the clubhouse and he would still be revered by the club.

Maybe if Alfie had been on the turps he could quite possibly have blown up at the club hierarchy over Kev's dismissal. We can do silly things on the drink.

I think we all love larrikin alf, but professionalism and maturity are not necessarily what alf is known for.

This can't come as a surprise to anyone, surely...

The more that happens, the more I like the direction the club is going. Kicking and screaming into the 2020's. About fucking time we stopped resting on the 00's, that was twenty fucking years ago. Big Dick Dave is swinging his member around and I'm here for it. It's well past time we started acting like what we are - the biggest, richest club in the league. It's high time we also had the professionalism to match.
