Karmichael Hunt ( Five Eighth)
Sam Thaiday (Second Row)
PJ Marsh (Interchange)
Ben Hannant ( Interchange)

Im surprised PJ has won a place considering he has been out injured but he played excellent for us in the opening few games, qld selectors have said they want a similar player to Shaun Berrigan who can fill a number of positions, Ben Hannant may also be the otehr starting prop alongside petro.

I would be happy with them settling for Inglis at 5/8, shift Folau to centre, Slater/Hunt interchange fullback/wing.

But overall, would prefer Prince to slot into 7, Thurston to 5/8.

if hunt is going to be our replacement for locky, why not have him get some practice at the top level, if it doesn't work out they can pretty quickly do a reshuffle; put him to fullback or onto the bench. If it is true I see nothing wrong with it. He is a s.o.o level player, while slater is a great a-grade player who would have never seen rep footy had hunt not got injured. As some have said, hunt deserves to be in the seventeen, its just a mantter of where.

I very much doubt that him at 5/8 will see us get beaten, if so we are a long way from the great side everyone is talking about.

Forgetting whether Qld win or not, If Hunt getting the number 6 jersey is indeed the case when the teams are announced today it will be a complete injustice for Scott Prince, the Qld team and Rugby League fans on a whole. The best, most consistant player so far in 2008.........Have we let Bellamy select our side?

Queensland Selectors heads should roll if this decision is in fact true.

At least the Blews are throwing around Gidley/Bird combination which is worse than the Hunt/Thurston combination. Their kicking game will suck. Hunts a better kicker than Bird....but anyway, it's all probably smoke and mirrors.

The fact that whispering leaving Prince out is the part that is the most shocking. If we didn't have such awesome halves, having Hunt in #6 would be OK...but we do, we have Prince.

I reckon Hunt at FB, Slater on the Bench and Prince at 6 is definitely the best combination.

I'm guessing mal wants hunt there to make easy metres on the fringe. but Hunt will be a marked man with the NSW backs coming up early so he will have no choice but to get smashed from the inside.

It said today in the courier that Hunt is a #6 waiting in the #1 jersey and that #6 is where he'll end up moving later in his career, basically it just a matter of time....something to that effect anyway!
If its true maybe their just using the fact that Locky's out to blood him as the #6 before Locky retires from rep footy
I dunno....I just dont see him as the #6 at all!

Slater is in far better form and Frank is 100% certain that NSW would rather Hunt be fullback than Slater.
