Great memories of that first one...the first big clash between me (die-hard Broncos fan) and my Dad (die-hard Dragons fan)!

Imagine that team today... they would be worn out in the first 20 minutes by the pace of the game now. I watched the 92 premiership final just last December and was amazed at how slow it was.

the 3 main things i remember about that grand final:

*Alan Canns 2 great tries, he was unstoppable with the ball that day. one try came off a massive step.

*i think after Canns first try, the look of absolute joy on Kevin Walters face when it looked like we had wrapped it up

*and then the last play of the game in which st george scored, and we had just won the gf, but we looked so pissed off (especially Tony Currie) that we had let a try in. It showed that we played for the full 80 minutes and in an age when league players weren't professionals yet, which just goes to show what a champion team that was.

Although this doesn't relate directly to the Premiership winning sides, we must give credit to the 1990 side that IMO was the side to lay the foundation for the premierships to come in the following years, heres some footage I found on youtube of the sort of football this Broncos side of 1990 was capable of.

Gotta love our early 90 sides....big Lazzo unstoppable up front....Renouf's nack of finding the line and I was surprised with the footwork of Alan Cann.


oh yeah and Kerrod Walters' rediculously funny running style when he broke thru the line like his body was going too fast for his head (quite possibly his curly mullet was not very aerodynamic)

On a serious note, the season starts next week and we are talking about the past, as you can tell by the replies not many people are intrested in this thread.

But hey i dont blame draggx for this topic, we have basically bought up every topic we could during the off season, thank god 2010 is just about to start.
