New Zealand have named four international rookies in their team to face the Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Carnegie this weekend ahead of the upcoming Test series against England.

Tuimoala Lolohea will partner Peta Hiku in the halves, with Shaun Johnson and Kieran Foran missing the series through injury and Benji Marshall left out of the squad.

Along with Lolohea, the Kiwis have included fellow uncapped players Broncos Jordan Kahu and Kodi Nikorima and Sio Siua Taukeiaho in the 20-man side.

"This will be an opportunity for those two halves to build combinations with the group around them," New Zealand coach Stephen Kearney said.

"We also have guys that haven't played since the last round of the NRL, so this is a chance for them to blow out some cobwebs."

Leeds will use the match to farewell club veterans Jamie Peacock, Kevin Sinfield and Kylie Leuluai and have also brought back former Rhinos stars Adrian Morley and Ali Lauitiiti for the match.

"This will be perfect preparation for us," Kearney said. "Leeds will be honouring some pretty special players and they’re expecting a full house."

Broncos prop Adam Blair is team captain and is joined by fellow experienced Broncos Kiwi Alex Glenn.

Yoooooo Kodi Nikorima is a rep player, whaaaat

Wait for the cries OMG HOW CAN THEY AFFORD KAHU AND NIKORIMA!!!!!

Adam Blair captaining from the bench lol

Blair will probably still play reasonable minutes...Taupau doesn't last long.

Will this be broadcast or streamed anywhere? I'm starting to get serious footy withdrawals already. The Tonga game help take the edge off a little but this game could be a proper dose of the good stuff.

It's not on TV in Australia.

But it is being broadcasted in England.. and NZ I believe so it's possible you may be able to find a way to watch it.

Blair and Glenn played decent and both Kahu and Nikorima had blinders!
Kahu beat 3 players to set up nightingale, than Kanu ran 60 metres and did an awesome aerial try in the corner. Nikorima had a Cameron Smith like rub from dummy half to set up Bromwich in a hole, nikorima than got an offload from Bromwich than stepped and dive for he's first try of the night. Very proud of Kahu that he has been blessed this year and deserves everything that comes his way and Nikorima is way to good to be on the bench for us, don't be surprised if he starts to demand a position very soon.

Nice, any highlight videos?

Edit: Just watched some low quality highlights on Youtube, you overstated everything about those tries lol, Kahu didn't beat anyone and threw a decent pass to Nightingale who did all the work to score, and Kahu ran about 10 metres to score a good try in the corner after a Tuivasa-Scheck linebreak.

You have sensationalised their performances a bit, but I am still excited to see what they can bring respectively to the team next year, especially Kahu.

could someone post a link to the highlights . I can't find them

Holy shit, I hope that's a sign of the hunger the boys have after the GF. They all played fantastic.

LOL what the **** was Johnathan Thurston doing playing fullback for leeds!?

And anyone know why kahu was benched? Hope he's not injured. . :/ he really should stick to regular season games only. No more trials or post season rep footy :P

Apparently he injured his groin.

Outside of Alex Glenn who received very little ball, I thought all the Broncos made positive contributions.

Despite looking dicey in defence early on, Kahu responded with plenty of positive touches in attack. The highlights captured two of his better plays, but it missed his take on a cross-field kick where he stripped the ball from the Leeds player and was unlucky not to earn a six again. He wasn't overly involved, but those touches underscored his class. The set-up for Nightingale was really good, drew in two defenders providing Nightingale with an opportunity to score, and I thought he did well to score his own try. Luke may a clean break, but he still had to beat two defenders and lunge for the line to score, which he did comfortably.

It's a shame he came off at HT but he didn't embarrass himself what-so-ever.

Nikorima completely outplayed Luke. Whether it was fresh-legs factor or not, Nikorima made a lot of really good decisions from dummy-half and his service on a few plays was sublime. It was his best seniors game to date.

I thought Blair bolstered the ruck, made some good carries and helped the roll through in the middle. Defensively, a lot sharper than Taupau who was something of a liability.
