No one in NSW would be butt hurt about it at all apart from Slothfield and the media. If you think the NSW public would be butt hurt over it you would be disappointed.

Yes the Sydney media talk about how great an all Sydney final would be but the QLD go on about how awesome an all QLD final would be. It works both ways.

Finally wouldn't the NRL prefer a Queensland team in the GF to keep interest and ratings here to a maximum?

Yeah, of course they'd like a Qld team in the gf but mate, what's the thread about ,seriously ? They absolutely would dread an all Qld gf especially if it was played in Sydney. It would be one of the poorest rating GF in history, at least in nsw.The reason for Qlders to consider it awesome( not my first choice of word ) is that it has never happened. An all Sydney gf has happened dozens of times and I'm afraid Bman, you have not lived long enough to know exactly how 'butt-hurt' the nsw public would be. If it happened it would be as painful as 8 straight SOOs because they would feel as though 'their' game and competition has been hijacked.

Im not saying you don't have a valid opinion just that you haven't had the experience we older folk have, we know how deep the animosity runs and how it is barely hidden. A slight scratch and out comes the cloven hoof.

DCE to Titans - biggest signing coup for a Qld club since the Broncos entered the comp in 88.

Funny thing is that despite a decade of dominance in State of Origin, only 1 premiership has been won by a Qld side in 10 years.

An no QLD team has featured in a GF since 2006.

I mean, obviously the Storm are a defacto Qld side (and always will be full of ex-pats from NSW or QLD), but the NRL would chalk that up to expansion and a win for Victoria.

To truly represent the player base, you need 5-6 sides in South East Qld (Brisbane South, Brisbane North, Western corridor (Ipswich/Logan, Gold Coast) and two from northern regional (Central - from Gympie through Rocky, Bundy, Gladstone, Mackay, and out West to Longreach - Ben Hunt, Ashely Taylor territory - and North Qld).

Ideally the Sunshine Coast would have a team as well.

The population base in those areas is as big, or bigger, than the catchment areas of a lot of Sydney teams to in theory support an NRL franchise. I'd argue the less culturally diverse the QLd areas are means a greater level of per capita Rugby League fans, juniors and players. Certainly less support for AFL or soccer and to a lesser extent Rugger the deeper you go into those areas above.

And your point ? Did it involve two Qld teams ? It's not that it is a non Sydney gf it's about the power shift that an all Qld gf would signify.
