All Stars Match - *SPOILERS*

Re: All Stars Team

Aye it's something I hope they change too but I don't have a problem with it being on the Coast for the first 2-3 years as that's where the idea originated.

What do people see in Kidley that I don't? Benny picked him as one of his choices, alongside Petero... [icon_shru

It's one of life's great mysteries, porthoz.
Honestly it shits me. Australian team, NSW team, All stars team pretty much anything he seems to be a certainty. I don't think he's a bad player but he seems to be massively overrated by selectors, he might have an amazing attitude to training but IMO you need more than that to be automatic selections for such teams...

Meh.

On the game I really didn't enjoy it this year. Can't wait till the first Broncos game!

So how would you guys rate the 3 Broncos?

Hannant was really good, one of the All Stars best IMO.

Yoh Yeh was pretty good, as he was last year in the same game.

Lockyer was pretty average, good defense though.

Fmd the refs tried to keep the indig all stars in the game after half time. Can bird play a game without being a grub?!

I really enjoyed the game. I think the NRL Allstars really wanted to win, after not getting the gig last year. I thought all three Broncos went alright. Although I reckon the Broncos would be shoe-ins if we had Marshall as our halfback. Reckon he's going to have a killer year this year.

Footy's back :!: [eusa_clap.gi

Back from the game, quite entertaining to watch, especially when they decided to turn on the style and razzle dazzle.
Although there was a clear smell of pre-season to it, some players are at a very good level already, and you could see there was a will to win from both sides and determination from the NRL All Stars to resist the political correctness and not so subtle help from the refs (including the video ones) towards the Indigenous team.

Individually, I think Dugan was the standout (please NSW, keep selecting Stayne as FB), SKD, Jennings and Yow Yeh also pretty good.
An average at best display from all halves, considering what they are capable of, but they still have to shake the cobwebs off…
In the forwards, clear domination by the All Stars, with Smith, Hannant, Scott, Taylor and Civo pretty much owning their opposition, although I did like Anthony Mitchell’s game. Things were a bit more even in the second row, but not enough.

Oh yeah, almost forgot… Bird remains and always will be a grub. [icon_non

Can anyone explain to me why Dugan would choose to look even more like a criminal by having that bloody rats tail???
