What a horribly boring game of football. NZ still suck, Australia still don't seem to care enough to play an exciting game of footy.

Boring.

Final Score - 30 - 6.

I'm watching it at the mo.... I'm so bored i'm, actually doing uni work.

Billy Slater sucks, Bring Hunt in, could of scored of nearly every set with a second man play (okay i just don't like Slater a whole lot).

Beastwood is such a champ!

The rules need to be changed. If you are from an Island, an aboriginal, or you have more herritage in another country, you CANNOT play for Australia.

The amount of players in that team who should be playing elseware is just beyond a joke.

Pretty crap game. Wasn't exciting at all, I agree with all of Nashys comments.

And I have to bring something up;

I'll be there. Biggest game of the year!

Of the year? Nah, of the DECADE! icon_thumbs_u

LOL [icon_lol1. You're having a laugh mate [icon_wink

This world cup might be hyped up, but the international game is still piss poor in terms of contenders. The world cup should just exclude Aus, NZ and England. Then it would be an exciting comp :D

Who are they meant to play for then?

I'd like to see it aswell Nashy, but realistically it isn't going to happen (unless some sort of brainwashing happens and they change the rules). It would make it way more intresting.

Umm why can't Aboriginals play for Australia??? That has got to be some sort of error... they are Native Australians!!

The game was boring as all hell. Australia might have been playing to win, but it doesn't mean it wasn't dull.

I missed part of my message.

I would like to see an aboriginal team in the mix aswell. That would help even out Australia's dominance too.

Ah ok. I wouldn't be opposed to that idea. Apparently Soward is calling for it after this afternoons match.

State of Origin is the problem though. As long as they can play for Qld/NSW, players will always declare allegiance to Australia.

Billy Slater - seriously poor form leading with the foot all the time. [icon_non I can't believe that wasn't a penalty try, let alone a penalty.

And? They didn't go out there to say, "Oh hey let's play a really exciting brand of football just to impress the doomsayers.

In fact, if you want to blame someone for a boring game, use your common sense and (lack of) rugby league brain and blame NZ! If NZ were good enough to take Australia try for try, you'd probably end up seeing Australia chance their arm more and step it up a notch. But they didn't need to, NZ were too shit, they were one-out all game and their kicking game was non existent.

lol what do you mean "and?" ??? AND the game was shit. Happy I clarified?

Good on them for going out there to win, it still sucked balls. And it's a shame it wasn't more of a spectacle cause games like that I'm sure won't do much for the international reputation of League... and TBH I thought one of the reasons for this world cup was in fact to re-spark interest into rugby league's international scene [icon_shru

How is ANY team meant to compete with the players that Australia fields from across the world? Tonights game was basically Warriors vs. Rugby League.

So why is it common sense to balme NZ again. Take the Aussie blinkers off, and put the International Rugby League ones back on just for a couple of weeks.

As for your above post. I thought the solution was obvious. Fix the stupid eligibility rules.

But you're bagging the shit out of the game because it was boring and you don't come up with a solution????

Of course it was boring, that's just how the game went. Bad luck for the International game, that's all. That's rugby league. Re-spark interest into rugby league's international scene? That's not up to the players, that's up to the governing body it'self! That is a marketing thing, so if they wanted to get people involved and watching, they'd need to promote it properly.

Why can't I bag out a game for being shit and just leave it there? Why the **** should I have to have a reason or a solution? It's my point of view on the game mate, like it or not.

I shouldn't have to give a friggin solution either. Do I look like the RLIF to you?

> The game was boring
> It is not good for International league
> It is unfortunate
> Hopefully the other games involving Australia are a bit more exciting

Luckily smaller Rugby league nations can give us something good to watch. It's a shame they probably won't have the talent to get too far though.

lol arm chair critics at their best.

Well why can't you just accept that the International game is at a low standard and get on with it? You whinge and say it was boring, it didn't live up to the expected expectations and start shrugging your shoulders because it was supposed to "spark" the international game...but what exactly were you expecting?

lol hypocrites at their best.

Can't you just accept that your opinion may not be agreed upon.

What was I expecting. A decent exciting game of football, you know, like I've mentioned.

lol arm chair critics? Whatever mate, someone has a difference of opinion to you and suddenly they are "armchair critics"

I whinge cause I was hoping for something better, I admit that. I was hoping for a close contest or at least some razzle dazzle from the Aussies. However it was a boring match. The Australians played it safe and NZ lacked quality.

This is all after so many people, including people on this forum have hyped this tournament up to be this almighty saviour of international Rugby league. I was doubtful personally but still reasonably optimistic. And we ended up getting that steaming turd of a game. Well... that's harsh but it was still pretty ordinary.

Oh and in case anyone gets precious:

IMO

There ya go.

No Pritchard, Sonny Bill, Roy Asotasi and Brent Webb also does not help the cause.
Kearney is hopeless, No Inu at Fullback, No Isaac Luke, everybody knows Thomas Leului sucks.
Im sure they will be better.

The Rock said:
LOL! but you weren't expecting an exciting game, you expected a shit game which is evident with your constant bagging of the state of the international game and how Australia is superior!

What I was expecting was not what I was hoping for. Of course I expected it to be shit, because Australia has all the talent, which, I don't agree with.

I was hoping it would be a good game of fast footy, where both teams played an exciting, good game. Hell, I would have been happy with just Australia doing it.

Just out of interest then, how many of the Australian squad would actually play for another country if the eligibility rules were changed?
