Didn't macca's attack only improve after his short stint in the maroons camp working alongside cam smith? Goes to show what a bit of specialist coaching will achieve. The whole spine could do with some extras

It's no coincidence, although maybe a bit of 'beginner's luck' with the first year of Hunt+Milf, that with Kevvie onboard we won 79mins of a GF. Then Macca gets better after spending time with the best hooker of all time. Shame Milford didn't swallow his pride and ask Locky for help. I know he's a busy man higher up now, but an hour or three a week is something I'm sure he could spare

Before.

If you want to look at the stats, he wasn't our best player. Have you seen those stats?
Well what stats are you comparing, running metres and hits up don't mean shit to a hooker. Ground covered, tackles he tops those, game minutes he tops them.

Maybe Locky doesn't actually want to?

I know how much I love doing **** all when I'm not at work.

quite frankly what the team needs is a consistent kicking game. Whilst the general play kicking was serviceable at the end of the season, the inside 20's kicks really showed up our deficiencies under pressure. we need to have not only the spine but potential replacements for the spine work to allow a serviceable kicking game to put opposition sides under pressure. Whether thats through set plays to take the pressure off them or having multiple options to kick on the last tackle, it needs to improve. We can't magically create a dream kicker this season so we must work with what we have.
Bennet doesn't like weakening a strength to compensate for a weakness. Its been his mantra from day one and why the broncos play differently to a lot of teams, but kicking is so important in the modern game that if we don't find a way to correct those last tackle options (also if you don't kick well, teams gain confidence in defence) we will be in the same situation at the end of next year.
I'd like to say there is an obvious answer, but i can't see one at this stage, other than working knick, milf, macca, boyd and whoever replaces them into the ground with drills and practice. Its got to be goal number one going into next season.

This is why we will struggle to win in next few years! Appreciate the points systems aren't very useful since only need a handful of great games then you can stink up the rest of the season but this is ridiculous. We are are club that values mediocrity and being popular over results. Team cohesion matters but not favouritism.

If Boyd was our best back this year we didn't deserve the make the finals. Between injuries, tragedy and form it was almost a Knights worthy performance. Roberts barely got ball only reason he isn't best back is because maybe other guys don't rate his effort between the tries and his off field poor form. Having said that wasn't a lot of other candidates between injuries and average play in the backs. At least wasn't Moga.

I can see Glenn as most consistent but Maguire excluding his ball hogging was more consistent and better playing essentially out of position. Gillett as best forward had an average year by his standards, very good but just seemed half a step off his best consistently and sometimes uncharacteristic misses.

Rookie of the year??

Macca as best player. Well says it all. Showed good signs but missed the key games due to injury and got replaced by someone who schooled him attack despite insufficient preparation. But hey he tries hard, seems like a nice guy, had a rough time and he stunk up attack less then previous years so must hail him.

Besides who else can honestly say they played to their full potential this year consistently? Good news is still made it deep into September if they step up might be able to have a crack next year but worried about the mental fragility of the team and raw desire...

Surprised Thaiday didn't get an award for best team man for telling jokes at training.
