Agreed, it is arguably a better team even than that championship year.

Yep that's pretty accurate, the melbourne teams look good

So Doggett has gone to Thunder?

So Doggett has gone to Thunder?

Yep.

Makes sense for him, I doubt he would've got a game this year for the Heat, arguably had 6 fast bowlers ahead of him - Pattinson, Laughlin, Steketee, Cutting, Lalor, Gannon

Lalor was arguably Heat's best player last year, and now he can even miss out.

Toss of the coin between Lalor & Steketee imo, I put Steks in there purely because of his recent form.

And what about Ross?

And what about Ross?

Same deal, don't think we offered him a new contract so he went to the Thunder where they had plenty of opportunity. There was really no need for him when we have Renshaw, Heazlett & Cutting in the middle order, with Burns & Labuschagne to come back for the finals if necessary.

Our only issue this year might be batting depth, we have essentially nobody if one of our top 7 get injured, only bowlers in reserve. I personally don't think we were expecting Burns to get picked for Australia again, our depth would've been fine if we had him as well.

Ross never really fired for heat unfortunately. Was one of the best players in BBL when he was Strikers.

Prestwidge will have a break out summer. Should be the all rounder over Cutting.

That's a big call, but I like it. He's probably already a better bowler than Cutting from the little I've seen of him, but Cuts has a big advantage over him with the potential to go monumental if he gets his eye in with the bat.

The Hazlewood injury isn't great for the Heat, that means we're likely without Pattinson for the foreseeable future.

At least we've got a bit of fast bowling depth this year.

Prestwidge 72 off 36 and 44 off 20 for Norths.
