another forum i post on had a "best 20 players since 1992 (first year of the premier league). So I thought id share my list with you, and maybe you could come up with one too.

Rules are that they have to have at least played 5 years within those 17 years.

Im surprised at the lack of Romario & Stoichkov in peoples lists! Is it a case of too young at the time to remember?

I dont rate him too high. He was awesome for Romania, but was never too consistently great at club level.

Hagi in the 1994 World Cup is what made me fall in love completely with the game, the passion and skill the man had were one of a kind and if he had had a better team around him would have looked even more amazing. Romario and Stoichkov just missed out for me because I thought Romario was a finisher through and through and not much more and I think Ronaldo was/is a better one and Stoichkov's best years were probably before my time although like Hagi he had a great 1994 World Cup.

Stoichkov was the player of the 94 world cup IMO. while Hagi destroyed the tournament favourites (colombia) and a rejuvanated Argentina, I think Stoichkov had a better tournament.
