Best possible squad (using our roster - no injuries)

Hey Everyone,

Given our run of bad luck on the injury front, I'm just wondering (if all players were available for selection), who you would name in your 17 if there were no injuries to our current roster. I actually found it pretty difficult as I had to make some tough decisions. For example, I wanted Folau on a Wing, but by putting him on the wing I had difficulty placing Winterstien, Yow Yeh and Kemp and Hoffman.

If we didn't have such a tough injury run, I think the squad below would be VERY strong.

1. Winterstein / Hoffman
2. Yow Yeh
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. Glenn / McCullough
10. Tronc
11. Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker
14. McCullough / Glenn
15. Anderson
16. Gillet
17. Hunt

Who would you pick???

Just wondering why you have Winter at the back and not Kemp?

1. Hoffman/Kemp
2. Yow Yeh
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Kemp/Winter
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. Hunt/McCullough
10. Tronc
11. Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker
14. Glenn
15. Anderson
16. Gillet
17. Hunt/McCullough

18. Norman
19. Sims
20. Lui

1. Hoffman
2. Yow Yeh/Kemp
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Winterstein
6. Locky
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Tronc/Anderson
11. Gillett/Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Te'o/Gillett
15. Anderson/Tronc
16. Glenn
17. Lui

1. Norman
2. Yow Yeh
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Tronc
9. McCullough
10. Kenny
11. Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Glenn
15. Gillett
16. Anderson
17. Sims/Some other n00b prop

My Norman bias and Hoffman hate bias is pretty evident here.

is it me or does jeremydts avatar look like its in 3d

I picked Winter because he was pretty good under the high ball and bringing the ball back in partnership with Karmichael last season. Also, I don't think that Winter gets the ball enough to make an impact (I'm wondering if he doesn't communicate all that well with the center)... Kemp is going to get that ball regardless.

Yeah I think you're right, this is probably the better option than Glenn/McCullough. I think the Jury is still out on Macca.

What game were you watching? [icon_lol1.

As for the original question, unsure, but for me Gillett has to start -- Even if it means playing Thaiday at prop, so be it. Gillett on the left + Hodges on the right = dynamism overload.

for Yow Yeh/Kemp, atm yes, even Hoffman yes, but Winterstein, I think he has done more than enough to cement himself as the number 1 winger at the club imo

Parker/Thaiday 2nd Row, Gillett at lock, teo on the bench

1. Hoffman
2. Kemp/Yow Yeh
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Winterstein
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Tronc
11. Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker
14. Glenn
15. Anderson
16. Gillett
17. Dodds/Lui

As much as I like Ben Hunt, I just can't see him cracking this 17. However, I think he's going to apply some pressure to McCullough for the 9 jersey.

Which can only be a good thing!
McCullough can no longer play shit and think he won't be replaced, ah competition is a good thing icon_smile

What Coxy said but if Sims ever pulls his finger out and plays well and also apologises to Ivan he may be in that best team also.

Couldn't agree more; I'm very indifferent when it comes to Macca - the competition will be good for both he and Hunt.

Am I missing the back story here; obviously I'm aware of his Simms' performance issues... did he say something to Ivan he shouldn't have?

I think it's more in regards to his supposed poor attitude.

So apparently the "McCollough is actually shit" bandwagon is the one to be on atm :P

That would be mine, I'd probably put Yow Yeh on the wing.
