BHQ Virtual Cricket League 08/09

Hey all,

I didnt really know where to post this but I will do it here to start with.

Clintos and I have been discussing an idea to get a virtual cricket league happening involving all the domestic fixtures (ING and 4 dayers).

Here are the proposed rules and scoring system that was discussed:

* Team must consist of 15 players
* Team must be of the formation of 5 batsman, 1 all rounder, 1 keeper & 4 bowlers
* Formation of 4 reserves is completely up to you

Scoring system (ODD)

* Every 5 runs= 1 point
* Scoring Rate 100+ 4 Points
* Scoring Rate 80.0 - 99.9 2 Points
* Scoring Rate 70.0 - 79.9 1 Point

Notes: Scoring Rate - Only batsman scoring 15+ runs

* Each Wicken Taken 5 Points
* R.R.P.O: 3.50 or Less 5 Points
* R.R.P.O: 3.51 to 4.50 3 Points
* R.R.P.O: 4.51 to 5.00 1 Point

Notes: Econ. Rate - A minimum of 3 overs must be bowled.


* Per Catch 3 Points
* Per WK Catch 2 Points
* Per Run Out 3 Points
* Per Stumping 4 Points


Notes: If applicable all players involved in a run out score points.


* 50 Runs 5 Points
* 100 Runs 10 Points
* 150 Runs 15 Points
* 5 Wicket Haul 10 Points
* Not Out 2 Points


Notes: These bonus points are on top of the standard points


* Duck -5 Points
* Golden Duck -10 Points
* Bowler Concedes >= 60 Runs -5 Points


Pura Matches (4 dayers)

Each Five Runs Scored 1 Point


Each Wicken Taken 5 Points

* Per Catch 3 Points
* Per WK Catch 2 Points
* Per Run Out 3 Points
* Per Stumping 4 Points

Notes: If applicable all players involved in a run out score points.


* 50 Runs 5 Points
* 100 Runs 10 Points
* 150 Runs 15 Points
* 200 Runs 25 Points
* 250 Runs 35 Points
* 300 Runs 50 Points
* 5 Wicket Haul (Innings) 10 Points
* 10 Wicket Haul (Match) 25 Points
* Not Out 2 Points


Notes: These bonus points are on top of the standard points. If a player took 5 wickets in a innings and then went onto take 10 in the match, you would score points for both achievements


* Duck -5 Points
* Golden Duck -10 Points
* Bowler Concedes >= 125 Runs (Per Innings) -5 Points

Clintos and I need another 4 interested parties within the next 10-12 days so we can sort out a draft system and then a draw, ready for the beginning of the season on October 10.

Any rules changes or suggestions are welcome too

Well just read the above scoring system and thats how the points will be awarded. How many points awarded to you depends on how your team goes.

For instance if I had Simon Katich in my team and he scored 100 in a 4 day game then got out he would get my team 20 points for batting (1 point for every 5 runs), plus he would get 10 bonus points for scoring that 100, for a total of 30 batting points.

Does that make sense?

We should wait to see the draw. If it becomes too complicated we will just go with the ODD system.
